Looks like +/- 20 acres to me, at least up to College View.

I know they plan to have a big student housing project over in that area, but I think/thought it was on the north side of College View.

If I had my druthers, that site looks prime for some cool vertical condos with parking underneath. They would be on that hill looking out across to the Hump.

That land that the old gas station sits on is pretty large, and goes back a long way.

I have heard there is going to be a pretty large apartment complex built there that stretches north and parallel to HWY 12.

I think there are plans to connect University to College View to link up the district and the new development at the site of old Aiken Village

ArcGIS. It's no longer available. I still use it but it has no support.

Do you know or anyone know of any other free or inexpensive apps that will calculate acreage in a similar way? I kind of doubted they existed cheaply and I don't need it bad enough to pay a high monthly fee.

You don't even need Pro. Google maps will let you

right click on any point, select 'measure distance', draw the outline, and it will tell you how many square feet. Divide by 43,560 to get acres.

Is there really a casino being built ?

I wish they would. It would give us something to do on game weekends during down time. Of course, since Davis Wade is actualy Indian burial grounds, they could take that over and build one there.

30-40 acres right there, for $14 million, they got a good deal.

Maybe not. Land that has had gas stations most likely has contaminated soil which I think makes the process to build something there other than a gas station quite tedious. I'm guessing that's why it has been vacant so long.

Ok that’s what I thought. I use ArcGIS at work extensively but have never used a mobile app with it. And when I searched I only found Collector and some more of their premium apps.

I want to call ******** on this, but someone just told me the old station across from the old Bulldog Deli (now the burger place) and acreage behind it just sold for 14 million dollars. Just a wild guess, but it looks like there is only about 30-40 acres behind it. Anyone know more about this?

It is actually less than 8 acres and sold for a little less. It will be a mixed use development.
