The government cant create competition unless it just gets out of the way and lets people compete.
Can't create it but can encourage it. Antitrust law is supposed to foster competition by making unfair practices illegal. What I noticed about this executive order is it's mostly a laundry list of Trump agenda items.
Meh...encouragement isnt really a finite action. Government itself can get out of the way. Competition creates competition. The lack of govt creates competition. Laws like antitrust laws are not really the issue, they are an agreement among citizens to conduct business a certain way.
Some good, some bad. There will be some unintended negative consequences to small businesses and negatively impact consumers. A lot of it looks like Trump stuff, specifically the drug prices. What’s funny is they just undid that like 2 months ago and now they’re reinstating it? Looks like they want to have the credit and not allow it to go to the GOP.
I would warn everyone to read the fine print.
A lot of engineering companies got screwed over by the PPP loans because they took a loan and didnt lay anyone off, they got loan forgiveness and found out now that by taking loan forgiveness they are only allowed to charge set overhead costs for federal jobs. A lot of those companies are DBAs for big federal jobs and not they are stuck charging lowball overhead costs so they are stuck losing money on jobs.
