Is there even a chance someone comes close

[Shadow34]

Records are set to be broken, but he is going to lap the field. This record could stand for a long time.

What's close? Duplantis at LSU is currently 30ish hits behind Jake

[PBRME]

It’s going to stand for a long time.

Yea, Duplantis may be the closest to it for a long time, and it just so happens to be in the same year. He is a Senior, correct?

Yes Duplantis is a senior

The old one stood for 20 years. With so many good players going pro after 3 years, this one could easily stand for another 40.

Maybe not. Not many players of his caliber play 4 years of college baseball. He's seen a lot of postseason play too.
