Is there any other fanbase more deserving...

than us of getting a national championship? I know I have maroon colored glasses and I enjoy being around State fans more than any other fanbase, but I think of the close ones we have had (baseball, women's basketball, men's Final Four, even Football in 2014), and all of the crud that we put up with (such as ESPN mistaking us for someone else, bias from the state's largest pwper, putting up with fans from certain school(s), and even refs/umps who have it out for us), I think the school and the fanbase is long overdue for a national title.

From a baseball only perspective, possibly Florida St. They have 40 straight years of 40+wins, and zero championships. But, they have NC's in football, so overall we are more deserving.

Deserving? As much as I agree with you, deserve happens on the field & earning it.

We finally recovered from the Templeton years and have opportunities to win National Championships now and in the coming years.

I get what the ‘deserving’ feeling is and what is meant by it. And I agree it’s due time that the fan base be awarded the championship after being so close for several times. The struggles with the football program for years and watching the Team on your doorstep win what seems like 1 NC every other year during your lifetime. . I could go on and on.

Better said this way: 3 things that can’t really be controlled are luck, timing, to a large degree and good officiating when needed. Of course skill, talent, etc. gets you there and wins it, but sometimes you need a little luck and maybe most importantly a GOOD officiating call when needed at the moment. THIS is what IS deserving! It has been the difference in 1 opportunity, especially the women’s NC last time. I think most people would agree with that. Oh, While we are on that topic, Generally speaking, I would say officials have more opportunity for a direct impact during round ball games than football games so get ready. Minus The saints game of course.

Our baseball fanbase certainly deserves one. One of the best college baseball fanbases in history. I can’t imagine there’s another out there that wants it more than ours.

The fan base needs to earn it. You know, through "charitable acts."
