Is there a tweak coming?

Don't think one is needed this time. That's the advantage of having a mature team instead of having all true freshmen. Even the freshmen we have are playing better than those in recent years because they have mature and developed players next to them on the court. This transfer portal maybe the tweak of all tweaks for Cal.

The only concern for this team is that Wheeler is critical to this team and he can be out of control at times.

When you have a veteran team, you don't need gimmick crap like tweaks, veterans can adjust on the fly.
Cal has a confidence in this team that he hasn't had since the 14/15 team and I hope he likes it enough to want to have a veteran team every year (next year won't be though).
If you had Cal + a veteran squad every year, he would own college basketball.
Had he been doing this all along, he would have 3 or 4 titles at this point, I feel very confident about that.

Hopefully the tweak was what we saw at high point. You know that guy we barely use, rarely shoots, and is one of the most offensively efficient scorers in country?

Let's get him a bunch of shots.

Been pulling my nonexistent hair out because we haven't been getting him shots.

Only thing I can think of is to figure out how to get to the line more often. I’ve been beating this drum all year. It’s about the only weakness I see.
We’re just aren’t going to with the way we’re playing right now. And don’t really need to.

If we continue to shoot this well and making midrange shots FTs will be a luxury not a necessity like previous Cal teams.

It’s very highly doubtful that we continue to shoot at this clip. I mean, Grady hit 7 3s yesterday. He’s not gonna hit 6-8 a game. It’s just not gonna happen.

That ND game comes to mind. Those type of games we are absolutely going to have to manufacture points from the FT line. Come tourney time, the game slows down more and becomes more about possession by possession. That’s why good guard play is so important.

We need Mintz to start shooting, that way we have 3 high level shooter out there every game. We all know Wheeler won’t be a shooter but it would be nice if he could hit an open on from time to time. I’ve lost hope that Allen will hit anything anytime soon.

My tweak would be nobody but Grady or Washington shoots more than ONE 3 pt shot a game. Those two are shooting it very well, but Allen is below 20% and he keeps trying to shoot himself out of the "slump". Wheeler does too many things well to be shooting 3s. We lost our other shooter in CJ, but we may get Sharpe at some point. Otherwise, leave those shots to the 2 people we know can make them.
