And why would that be? I'm curious why you think a woman couldn't be a men's college bball head coach.
šŸ–ļøI'll go. How do you think she would handle it when all the players get out of the shower and walk around the locker room swinging swords butt naked? If Wenyen Gabriel was around the poor woman would have to be put in psych ward

Pearl .712 winning% 17 NCAA tournament wins
Drew .642 win percentage 17 NCAA tournament wins

So wth are you talking about?? Bruce can flat out coach and yeah he has a big personality with an ego to match. He desperately wants a title. Drew is in cal mentality territory nothing to prove.
Bruce has been in a better situation than Drew. Drew’s first several years at Baylor was rough and skews that data. I like Pearl better than Oates, Miller and Beard. I actually think Pearl and Drew would do about the same at UK. Pearl would just be more of a character.

I think cheater is the word you're looking for. Do you not recall his days at UT?

Wow. But it'd alright for all the male coaches to get an eyeful of their female players in their locker room? By your argument.

If Tubby can handle the pressure here for 9 years and it took the 10 year to finally want to leave.......... Im absolutely sure good coaches could handle the pressure here just fine.
The men’s game and women’s game are totally different and it wouldn’t be a good fit.

I think we would all get behind either Hurley or Donovan…. To be honest though anyone but Cal even if it’s Drew with a great backing by boosters with NIL money flowing in will make us competitive from day 1! I’m just glad we get to start fresh and get back to being UK again.

that BBN would all agree on? I don't think he exists? Some just look to hate regardless who it is.
A lot of folks on here trying to stir the pot as they need the drama. Don't believe me just look at how every post on this site turns into an argument. There are also some of the Cal loyalists on here that truly believe nobody is a better human being than Cal for his charity work within the state, politics etc. I know no matter who we get they can produce better results on the court than Cal did the last several years. Kentucky just offers to many resources to succeed for any of the Coaches mentioned. The top 3 all have a more impressive resume than Cal before he got to UK.

On this board, no one will unite everyone.

But this is a small segment of the fanbase.

Fanbase overall will unite behind any of the coaches we've seen mentioned. A lot of the fanbase was still with Cal after St peters and before the Oakland coaching Calpractice.

Any of the top 3 candidates of Hurley, Drew and Donovan (in order of preference) SHOULD unite the fan base. Any of them would be the best qualified coach UK ever hired. But you can't ever make everyone happy.

I agree. Anyone that says that would rather have Oates or Pearl over Drew don’t care about coaching. They just want a big personality

This isn't necessarily true. Maybe they just feel that Oats/Pearl would do better here.

I'm on board with whoever they get. It'll be someone good. It's just hard to assess exactly until they are in that position whether or not the person is going to be able to handle this job.

We can sit here and go ad nauseum through past tournament success/failure, overall success/failure but at the end of the day, who knows lol.

I didn't actually intend to "stir the pot". Not that anything we say here makes a difference. Just thinking of other options besides old, vanilla white dudes that are a lateral move at best.

Honestly didn't expect all the negativity, but it is a message board so whatever.

I hardy think a bbq and a few phone calls would be considered cheating now days. Cal’s done worse than this each morning before daily mass.
So you're fine with cheating then? I was at UK during "Kentucky's Shame" I'm not interested in experiencing that again.

Never said I was or I wanted Pearl but what would be considered cheating now that you can pay players. Cheating is over.

If you don't take into consideration what Drew took over, then your analysis of his record means nothing. His first several years at Baylor were awful because Baylor was a train wreck recovering from a murder coverup on top of the fact they had no basketball tradition to begin with.

So tired of some lazy posters who, because of their lack of IQ or just damn laziness, love to throw the word "hate" around believing themselves to be relevant. You're not only irrelevant but also ignorant. Just stop with the "hate" rants. You look like idiots. People have different opinions/concerns and this is a discussion board and each are entitled to their opinions, all while being respectful of the differences, but the "hate" accusations are moronic and those who continue down this path should be considered just that.

Do you want a mayor or a coach? Drew took over for a school virtually on the death penalty.

Pearl cannot coach defense, never has. He also cannot adjust. I know you were probably focusing on something else, but did you pay attention when Cal beat him this year by running the same play every single possession. Great coaching indeed.
