Here is the current West standings
Wisc 2-0 conf
MN 1-0
Iowa 1-0
Neb 1-1
Purdue 0-1
NW 0-2
Illinois 0-2

For the sake of simplicity Im taking Purdue, NW, and Ill out of the equation. Yes they could win it but again let go with top 4 right now. My prediction for each game is highlighted.

Wisc has Mich St W, @ Illinois W, @Ohio St L, Iowa W, @ neb W, Purdue W, MN W. Next to Ohio St they look like the next best team in the BIG. The only realistic shots I give them to lose would be to Mich St, Iowa, and Ohio St, maybe us if we can get our **** together. So Best case they are 8-1, worst case they are 6-3
MN has Illinois W, Nebraska L, @ Rutgers W, Maryland W, Penn St L, @ Iowa L, @ NW W, Wisc L While 4-0 they have looked worse than us so far. I could honestly see them with potential to lose 6 of these 8. So going with Best case 6-3. Worst case 3-6
Iowa has @ Michigan L, Penn St L, Purdue W, @ NW W, @ Wisc L, MN W, Illinois W, @ Nebraska W. Iowa has looked good, but nothing special. I would bet they in that 3 loss range for sure. But they do like to try hard for at least 1 ranked team a year. So best case I see 7-2. Worst case. 5-4
Neb has NW W, @ MN W, Indiana W, @ Purdue W, Wisc L, @ Maryland W, Iowa L I see us in a similar boat (no pun intended) as Mn. We could easily lose all if we played like we have all year. We have not looked good and if we want any shot at the West we have to play better ball. Worst case 3-6. Best Case 6-3.

Basically Wisc and Iowa I don't think are going to do us any favors and lose games they shouldn't. We will have to beat both and probably have a BIG record of 7-2 or 8-3 and wins over both to have a shot at the west. Do you see us losing only 1 or 2 more games this year based on how we have played so far?

We have to improve in multiple areas to compete for the west. I don't see it right now but I didn't see us making the strides we saw last year either.

The rest of our schedule is pretty weak except for UW. Catch them napping or beat up and NU could still be in Indy.

HOWEVER, we're a thin, young team. A key injury for us here and there and it gets to be a real struggle down the stretch.

This team is too damn inconsistent and I have no desire to see them indoors on a neutral field against this version of OSU.

Good luck to the winner of the west in that game. Smokin

Any answer other than, "yes, it's still achievable" is stupid, however likely that may be

Similar to asking can I win a million dollars? 100% yes you could. However the odds are very unlikely.

The team turns it around right now, absolutely. I felt like they changed last year after Michigan. I'll continue to watch them to see. Lose this weekend and that goes to about absolute 0

Second week of baseball season the royals had a chance at the World Series. I’ll say yes but do we really want to be? Just like the rose bowl against Miami, you don’t turn it down but we shouldn’t have been there opponent

I believe Nebraska will loose one more game to either NW or MN. Otherwise I agree with your assessment.

This feels like one of those season defining games. We bounce back and get the win, I could see a turnaround. Maybe winning 5 of the next 7. If we lose, I could see the wheels come off similar to 2017. Another season like that could be devastating for players, recruits, coaches and fans. All anyone wants to see is progress over MR, another 4-8 season or 5-7 season would not be it.

In a championship game.

What most kids prefer to do.They know Ohio St is better than us thats what some of us don't understand.

If we make it to that point we are probably a much better team than now and a chance to show that win or lose.

Gotta take down both Wisconsin and Iowa this year. Thankfully home games. Do that and we can probably survive one more loss.

We'll be lucky to get to a bowl game, IMO, which keeps changing but the trajectory of my expectations has been "lower" every week.

Should have beaten CO.
Should have played IL smarter.
Should have given tOSU some sort of game.

All bad checks.

Yep.....we'd likely get throttled again but it would be absolutely great! Outstanding! That would probably mean we'd go from 4-8 to 9-3. Smokin

I'd expect a lot of man-to-man coverage on our small WR. Jam the los. Goddammit.

Then our OL doesn't have a clue, unless we come out Power I?

Frost needs to come out Power I!!!!

Midweek drunkeness and I'm grasping at straws here. Plus I'm freaked-out about a deal closing.

We will not win the West. We will end up, in my humble opinion, anywhere from 8-4 to 5-7. Honestly, I just don’t think we are a very good football team right now. I really wish that were not true. But our two lines, our receivers, and our linebackers, are mediocre.

Mediocre might be generous.

As stated above, we are not consistent enough to string that level of performance together... I think a bowl would be a solid accomplishment...

"If" our kicking game, penalties, our center's hikes and free turnovers everywhere could be tuned down we might have a chance. Maybe.

Add to that our OLine and.....well......we need a miracle and it doesn't look good. There's still a chance! But probably not a big one.

This is pathetic! If you think Minnesota can lose 6 if 8 you are blind. Minnesota let Purdue back in game when leading by 21 in 4th. Also Minnesota reporters just revealed Purdue took the bait in that gophers offense coordinator didn't use any of his plays during non conference. Good luck to Nebraska beating Minnesota at home.

Also Wisconsin isn't that good. Minn and northwestern Wildcats showed recipe for beating them. Focus on their run game & dare their QB to throw. Theyr QB had 86 yard passing against NW

I see your use of "Neb" and it disturbs me; especially when you rightfully call NW what it is.... NW.

Anyhow, I see NU finishing 2nd or 3rd in the West.
