Need our freshman RB to play this year at least IMO.This is a long response to a simple point. I would prefer every freshman sit. Don't care how big of a name they are.
The obvious problem for this fall is what appears to be a much tougher schedule. Our lines and QB could be better and we could still win fewer gamesWe made a bowl game last year because of a cupcake schedule and Emmett. Nebraska had mediocre-at-best run blocking with their 82nd ranked yards per carry (4.21 ypc) and 11th in the conference.
The secondary shouldn't see a step back. Hartzog missed the entire season and then left. Buford got benched for Guthrie. Singleton was either good or bad, rarely consistent. Ceyair Wright couldn't even get drafted despite being a Midseason All-American. Secondary might even be better this year, especially with Aurich's system. Addison Williams is killing it. McDougle should be very valuable. Marshall returns. Guthrie returns healthy. You have Rhett, Conn, Benning, Jones, Charles, Evans, Odem (5 Star DB).
Special Teams *shouldn't* be a difficult thing to coach up and keep operating, but Ed Foley sure made it look like it was harder than a surgeon performing a heart transplant surgery while blindfolded and upside down. Ek's departure should not produce a drop off in ST.
Nebraska gave up 4.82 yards per carry last year. You think they're going to be worse than Rutgers last year who gave up 6.79ypc and 210 yards per game???? Come on now.
Gonna take a stab: Northwestern, Purdue, Colorado, Rutgers, Boston College, Colorado, UCLA, Mississippi, State, Baylor, Kansas, Cal, Arkansas, South Carolina, Maryland, Michigan, State, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, State, Syracuse, WVU.
Surely thereās 5 in there.

I will disagree...our fans broke the decibel level in Oklahoma City, broke attendance records for baseball and softball, broke the world record for fans attending a volleyball game and Colorado players openly stated that they were shook by the enviroment, which ultimately lead to our biggest win in the Rhule era.Our game day atmosphere isn't anything special or unique. Many teams with as good or better.
Go and watch film on Colandra. He is a running qb. His passing game is very suspect. He was average in a lower conference, he will get killed in the big 10.The obvious problem for this fall is what appears to be a much tougher schedule. The team is so boring and bad that the environment has been muted, but if we ever had a top 5 team, at night...you will see a different beast...
Both sides of the ball. I'm confident in GW and optimistic about DL coachesI think a lot of our OL and DL issues has been coaching. Especially the DL. I do agree they aren't playoff quality though.
Need a couple things to happen for this class:
* canāt lose too many games
* canāt get outbid on best commits
I am pessimistic on both fronts. But hopefully I will be wrong.

No disagreement. The gist of the conversation was development. I think we have people in place now that can do that. Last year not so much. That's all I have to say about thatHaving some confidence is a little different than thinking our lines went from some of the worst in the B1G to Top 12 in the country within a year.
Having said that I am VERY concerned about the lack of dl and de recruitment for 2027No disagreement. The gist of the conversation was development. I think we have people in place now that can do that. Last year not so much. That's all I have to say about that
Like I said, taking a stab. Most of those teams had a worse rush defense or gave up more yards per carry than we did. Could be system, could be talent. I have no clue. Like I said, I was taking a stab at it.Did you watch college football last year or no? There might be 2 teams on that list that have less talent than we do on the DL and thatās it.
We need to get much better on both sides of the line to be a playoff team.Maybe my sarcasm meter is broken? You're joking right?
in general, whenever people are so negative about something, the result usually turns out to be the opposite.. add to that, the Offensive Line Overhaul and the QB who dared to take a sign from God, to come to NU. I see nothing but good times this year.. so much so, I'm trying to manifest a playoff berth.. join me!What are you basing this on? I see nothing but bottom-half of the conference team.
We need to get much better on both sides of the line to be a playoff team.
What part of English didnāt you understand.
Depth at the QB is the best since Rhule has been hired.
yes.. this year i believe we have a playoff level team and the following year could be even better.. I am super excited for the season to begin.
What position group or groups do you think we have to compete at that level?
Offensive and defensive lines.
This will be the first year Rhule has QB depth for the upcoming season.
What Iām saying is that Geep seems to at least be addressing what should have been done year 1 under Rhule. Other than that Iām lukewarm at best and apathetic at worst.Oh, @Redscarlet my simple minded, slow blinking, little friend. It appears, once again, that you the the one with the English comprehension problem. Entire conversation below to help you follow along. I can't spell it out any more in crayon for you...
@NikkiSixx - I believe we have a playoff level team.
@BugsAreQualityProtein - What position group makes you say that?
You - Offensive and defensive lines.
Me - You're joking, right?
Here are the actual quotes for context and accuracy with the pertinent parts in bold for you...
You might want to brush up on your own basic understanding of the English language before you come here questioning that of other posters.

That is defined in the eye of the recruit on a recruit by recruit basis. To the degree that a recruit plans to go to the NFL, bowl games, CFP games and gel with this staff and teammates while winning games for a few years, all of that can be undermined by a stinker of a 2026 season. Best example would be the recruiting class that could have been if Callahan hadnāt been fired.Define too many games. If we make another meaningless bowl, is that enough? I can certainly hear the hat spinning the narrative into "back to back to back bowls for the first time in over a decade, heading in the right direction, just need a player like you to take the next step, blah, blah, blah"
That's true! No idea how that rooms shakes out.Need our freshman RB to play this year at least IMO.
