If that had been Green doing that, we would have been just as excited about that.

Gimme a break. Quade is the best outside shooter on this team, shooting 42 percent on threes, with Herro at a measly 27 percent. But nobody here has been remotely "excited" about Quade's shooting, instead we've been ripping the kid mercilessly.

Yet you claim the only reason the fan base was so hysterically excited by Herro is shooting? LOL.

This is such horseshit. You have no way of knowing any of what you're implying here. How does some message board dipwad know what "leadership skills" he's shown, how much "heart or fire" he has, or how he "feels" inside? Are you in the locker room? These might be things you WANT to believe, but they're NOT things you could actually know.

I'm OK with Quade criticism based on his assist to turnover ratio or similar empirical data. But some of the stuff on these anti-Quade threads that bash him on personal grounds, his character, the namecalling, implying he's the cancer causing chemistry problems (something you knuckleheads are in NO position to know), etc. are embarrassing. Honestly, sometimes you guys can give the impression you're just bad people when you pull that crap.

But I do get it. It's been embarrassingly obvious for a year now that a large segment of our fan base is wildly excited about Tyler Herro and dearly want him to be be the big thing this year. And because Quade's the guy competing for his minutes, he's who you want perceived as the team's bad guy. So you'll spin it that way regardless of whether deserved or not.
See I was right, it was apparent, hate it but the tapes don lie. My friend was absolutely correct.
Good luck to Green if he decides to transfer

Ha. Wouldn't have guessed he'd do it mid-season. Nice call

Getting buried in the rotation and being forced to play off the ball when he was recruited as a PG. Probably thinks he needs to play point if he’s gonna have any kind of pro career, and he likely does. Wasn’t gonna happen at UK, which is kinda ********, but whatever.

Just more roster turnover.

What I don't understand about taking Quade in the first place is you clearly take him as a PG because we had nobody else and Cal had to know that Fox and Briscoe were gone. Number one, what did they see in him as a PG, he clearly did not have the size or the quickness to play PG at this level. Obviously, Syracuse and others saw something in him as well, I just don't see how everybody missed on this kid so badly. Hell, I guess it's possible Cal screwed him up, I guess we will see in about a year.

You called it, you deserve props.
I honestly wrote the post because I wanted Quade to get a chance for more minutes for a couple of reasons, one because Herro obviously is not shooting very well, but the other reason which proved true was Quade seemed upset about playing time and I really hoped he could be a very good player this year. Really disappointed in losing him, now Baker has his chance!

If Quade couldn't surpass Hagans, Quickley, and Herro for playing time then he HAD to go because Maxey is a better player than all of those guys.

So much microwave society. Due to OAD and not being patient, many fans here give a kid time to develop. Green was never considered a OAD so why are people judging him like he should be instead of letting him develop for four years like Jorts. He’s not dominating or having a bunch of good games now but he’s only a soph and has two years.

The funny things is the same people who destroy him on here are the same ones who did that to the transfers and then say “ man I wish we had Mathews or Witljer, look how well they are playing”. Well they are playing that wel due to developing

Jorts was a transfer. He was never a highly rated prospect. He was never “expected” to be a one and done.

Green chose Kentucky and was recruited by Duke, and he was one of the top guards and players in class.

The two guys who agreed with you practice soft bigotry on the daily. You’re black so they give you a pass on your horrible takes knowing full well they’d call out any white person with this same take all day. It’s pathetic and pussified. It’s just a disgrace. And I’m not scared to call it what it is to any of you.

And we all know you tried so hard to find a white example to compare and couldn’t, so you threw that BS together.

Herro is white. White people are allowed to enjoy a rarity in this sport especially for this team and they aren’t doing anything wrong. They don’t love him any more than any other player. He’s a shooter that’s what really adds to it. Skip Bayless, far from a white racist, said on ESPN that he took pride in Dirk Nowitzki becuase he was a rarity in the NBA. He asked the table of black guys if they had a problem with it and ESPN ANALYST WHO ARE BLACK SAID NO. That there was nothing wrong with it. It’s common sense and only takes a modicum of brain function to understand it. But you just have to be a victim
Somehow. Jesus, people literally have so much power over you in your mind. That’s gotta suck.

Ask people if they want Lamb, Delk, or Herro. Wait doesn’t fit.

I’ll try again.

Ask them if they’d rather have Wiltjer or Terrence Jones. Wait again, doesn’t fit.

We want winners first and above all. Herro being a rarity doesn’t really matter to anyone in the grand scheme. It’s just that when white kids shoot a gym up it excited people because so few do. Even black dudes I know love seeing a white guy bust out in a gym full of black
Dudes. What era are you guys from? 1955?

Some of you are so ate up in paranoia and delusion I don’t know how you function in daily life. It’s weird as hell in your heads. We gotta few generations that really need to kick off so everyone can finally get along and pretend we have sense.

This is rather misleading.

Travis Ford certainly was not hated during his playing career. Instead UK fans LOVED him back then, he was treated like a statewide hero. It was only in later years that a lot folks gradually changed their view of him after discovering his penchant for acting like an ******* and mistreating people in his post-playing life.

This thread's discussion of bias relates to our perception of these guys as BASKETBALL PLAYERS. But the reason we turned on Ford has nothing to do with basketball. Many who now dislike him as a person still love what he was as a player. Two different things.

It’s not misleading, it’s just that you can’t comprehend that people aren’t as racist as you think they are. Your first mistake is assigning motives to people that you don’t know and have never met. You’re taking something as harmless as pride in a rarity and a minority and blowing it into a situation where you can play your favorite game of White Goodman. Have some self respect dude, half the people you lay over and bend for relentlessly are going to hate you regardless. You aren’t getting anywhere.

It’s human nature to identity with people who look like you. This isn’t gender studies it’s real life. Does Herro get a nudge there? Sure. It’s harmless. Shut up about it, damn. All of this subtle insinuation from you and the New Yorker Albany has destroyed the damn thread with this BS that’s nothing more than a way to make yourselves feel elite and enlightened. But keep stoking flames for no reason.

White guys are spotlighted at UK becaue there aren’t many and 90% of the state is white. WOW. This is news. Let’s form a new college class about it and study the cause and effect. I mean do some of you realize how beta and dorky you sound?

You can’t change the fact that it all comes down to performance in the end. Period end of story. If you want to continue to believe in the paranoid delusional version that’s been laid out for you, go ahead. But say it and stop with the insinuations.

Well put. The Quade bashing on this thread ignores the fact that statistically he's doing better than our other guards.

Imagine how frustrated Quade must feel. He's clearly got the best shooting percentages of any of our guards, He's more experienced than any of our other guards. He got a ton of playing time last year. But this year Cal's got him buried behind three freshmen that can't hit the broad side of a barn from outside.
We're not in practice. We don't see what goes on in the program 90% of the time. We don't take into account attitude. I understand the other 3 guards haven't been great, but what has Quade Green really done in 1.5 years to garner the benefit of the doubt? I'm just a fan- I watch the games, and the press conferences, and I read the message board....that being said- I've seen very little from Quade that makes me feel like this is a huge loss. The downside is we lose a very very average tweener guard. The upside is more opportunity for one of the freshman to become a star who will win games for us in Feb and March.
