First, Johnson didn’t deny that the photo is new. He said he heard that it’s an old photo and he doesn’t know what to believe, which is where I stand right now.

Second, I have no idea who that host is and I’ve never heard of that channel before.

I’m looking for confirmation from a legitimate news source. CNN, PBS, ABC, NBC, CBS, AP, etc.

If Mitch’s office really did distribute that same photo in 2023 then it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes for those sources to confirm it.

Does it matter what station it is? A sitting senator just said what he said.
He could say it on VH1 and it would still be a sitting senator saying it.

I will agree he didn't confirm it was an old photo, but just pointing out the channel argument in bunk.

but this is trump politics - where no consequences will ever be paid for dishonesty or wrong-doing. they'll hide and obfuscate to run out the clock, then admit the truth, the media will freak out about it for 3.5 hours, then trump will fall asleep in an afternoon meeting once again and the media will get distracted and shift focus to that

I will preface this by saying if this is a legitimate photo, because I’m still not quite ready to trust that it’s a genuine recent photo. But if it is real then it proves exactly the opposite of what you say. It proves they were telling the truth for weeks, even as you guys were accusing them of lies and obfuscation.

You guys repeatedly insisted he was dead before they loaded him into the ambulance. That at best he was on life support with no hope of recovery, or he possibly wasn’t even on life support anymore and had already assumed room temperature.

Every time one of his family or colleagues said they spoke to him you guys parsed their statement at a molecular level and claimed they carefully chose their words to technically avoid lying, that they “spoke to” a corpse rather than “spoke with” a sentient human being.

Now that it appears that all of your suppositions may have been wrong, you accuse them of lying about everything.

I think the photo is real and current. The thing is the photo doesn't prove that McConnell still has all his mental capabilities. Without actually hearing his voice and him answering questions, it's impossible to know whether he is mentally capable of telling us his name let alone preform his duties as a senator.

It's just really weird that his office released a proof of life hostage photo with a prepared statement rather that having some "MAGA friendly" reporter have a recorded conversation with him.

Of course it matters. As you already acknowledged, Sen. Johnson didn’t confirm the speculation. He said he doesn’t know. So that accomplishes nothing toward confirmation. And the other guy in the video is a fringe political host. I don’t trust anything that fringe hosts say because they almost always have an agenda.

So nothing about that video helps me understand what’s really going on. I’m waiting for a legacy media outlet to shed light on it. If they really did use that same photo in 2023 then CNN or PBS or the AP or even the BBC should chime in and say “Bloody hell! They used this same damn photo three years ago.”

I would argue that us (us being the American people) not being made aware of this makes it obvious he cannot currently perform his job.
