Like to see him at UK! What has HE done or said to prevent that happening. I hear he is a fine young man. Additionally what did dad say that any parent wouldn’t think. Said he didn’t want him to go to UK to be a bench warmer. I am fine with that statement. Wouldn’t want it any other way. We will lose 8 players so we need bodies

Not every roster is made up with 5 star one and dines. We’ve been short handed a lot with only 10 or 11 scholarship players several times. Last year with injuries we were down to 7 players.
Kid's father is a douche and kid seems like he thinks he is better than he is. We need team players at UK IMO. That said, if he can show some humility and be open to working hard for a spot on next year's roster I'd be open to it. He has to know he is probably going to come off the bench and work for every minute he earns at UK over his time here.
Exactly. was not just dad. Kid wants PT guaranteed. You never hear Cal recruits say anything other than come to UK work hard and earn your PT. Sure they all want it but as you said you have to be humble about it.
If his father was just thinking it it would’ve been fine. Hell saying it privately would’ve been fine. Saying it to the press says he’s going to be a huge headache and UK needs to look elsewhere.
I think Tandy was well on his way to an offer before that comment and it was easy to see us cutting ties directly thereafter. Cal is all for having KY kids that are good enough but he doesn’t want headaches and the fathers comments sure looked that way on the surface
The question is then why are other schools so ready to take on a problem and not Cal? Spare me the desperation of other schools.
Don’t confuse loud with bad parenting. Lavar has his kids making money, not into drugs etc. I’ve seen bad parents and he’s not one of them.
Because Cal doesn’t have to take on the problem obviously. If Tandy was going to be our best player Cal would likely put up with it but his 1st and 2nd year he’s probably looking at 8th or 9th man minutes and his Dad was griping at that possibility before we even offered. If you’re Cal why stay involved at that point?
I wasn't referring to his actual parenting when I said one bad parent. I'm referring to the way he tried to control the coaching staff and the program while his son was there. I'm sure we could debate his actual parenting too, but that wasn't the focus of my comment.
