Is it too late to snag PJ Fleck?

[WilCoDawg]

I like what I’m seeing.

I like what I’m seeing.

We shoulda gone after him 2 years ago, and I have no idea why we didn't. Probably can't get him to leave Minnesota now.

[WilCoDawg]

The way I see it is that if we’re going to have a yankee as the head coach, let’s at least get one that can win***.
He’s a WR guy as well with NFL coaching experience.

[THE Bruce Dickinson]

Imagine Minnesota fans wondering if they could snag Mullen after the 2014 season.

[engie]

Yes

[Shamoan]

He’s said that there were only 4 or 5 schools he would ever leave western Michigan for and he said Minnesota was one of them. We would never have a shot at him. That ship has rowed.

If Fleck terminates his contract with Minnesota, he’d owe the school the following termination fee:

• $10 million through December 31, 2020
• $4.5 million from January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021
• $3 million from January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2023
• $2 million from January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2025
• $0 from January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026

[WilCoDawg]

Haven’t these contract buyouts been proven to be as toothless as 90% of Bama’s fan base?

[WilCoDawg]

Got it. But couldn’t that also be construed as coach speak? It’s not like a coach has never made a pine box comment before.***

[RiverCityDawg]

We have a better chance at getting Urban Meyer. 0.001% compared to 0.0009%

During the Ole Miss coaching search there were multiple posts claiming that he has a weird custody situation with his children and won’t/can’t leave the Midwest because of it. But you know how that goes.. everyone knows something on the message boards. I mean, I’m Keith Carter himself, after all.

I know one thing, though. PJ Fleck is a damn good football coach.
