Worst at-bats I have seen this season. WTF was that? Let's lift everything because, hey, it's Tennessee! Great 5 second conversation by lemonis as well. Way to set em straight!

Agree that something seems to be up but wasn’t Tennessee supposed to have better pitching? LSU also? Both have had decent pitching so far based on some things I’ve read. Our hitting has either been non existent or off the charts. That’s what’s strange. We are really aggressor the plate swinging early which is good against some teams but the better pitchers know that pitch crap that make us pop up easy.

Looking at play by play, I count 15 pop ups/fly outs for MSU. A full five innings of pretty easy outs. Doesn’t leave much room for actual scoring.

Gatreau is good but he isn’t as good as some seem to think when we are hitting great but he also isn’t bad when we have a few struggling. We have lost 6 games out of 32 in baseball. I’m feeling pretty good about it even with some negative play at times

Lemonis basically explained the strategy in his post game....the ball was flying when they hit bp so swing for the fences. Really disappointing in the lack of adjustment. After the 5th, it should have been pretty apparent the ball wasn't flying the same.

I dont think that was the strategy. I think he is saying thats just what happened. We got “big” in the game bc the ball was flying out pregame.

Of the 20 non-conference wins, only 6 were RPI positives. The other 14 came against Youngstown, Maine, 2 Directional Louisiana Schools, Ark-LR, and 5 SWAC schools.

We have 2 more non-con that can help with RPI: South Alabama and Ole Miss.

We have 19 SEC games left. If State is to be a Top 8 Seed, we will have to go at least 13-6, but more likely 14-5 in SEC games.

The guys playing are gonna have to step it up defensively and at the plate. Last night, even our best hitters were fooled by UT pitching.
Hopefully today they can square up some balls.

Plenty of baseball left, but prior to SEC play the competition was pretty weak.

The stretch run starts today!

Go Dogs! Hail State!

Cohen said on the radio that you can't win @ TN swinging for the fences. He said it has been that way since he was a player. The whole game he was saying both teams were swinging too hard trying to knock the cover off the ball when they should be hitting line drives into the turf.
