As everyone knows, Frost famously said (regarding Joe Burrows coming to Nebraska) "is he better than what we got"? or something along those lines
He rightfully got mocked for that after Burrows won a NC and Martinez had a brutal sophomore season.
I'm trying to think why Frost is still going with Martinez; and I'm wondering; is he putting Martinez out there to try and prove he was right about him? Like an ego thing?
Does Frost, deep down inside, really think that Martinez is a great QB? Or is he just hoping that he will be one?
I personally think that with an upgrade at QB this year that we would likely be 6-2 or 7-1. Even with all the bad play with penalties, special teams, etc. in almost all our losses we had the ball with chances to go win it at the end of the game. Those are situations great QB's step up and get the job done.
Or does Frost literally have no other choice; all his other recruits suck and the team is 3-9 with Martinez and 1-11 without him? Because personally; those records really make no difference to me and I would rather see Smothers get a chance to prove himself in a game; and not make this judgement on how he practices.
