Is Evan Simon the QB next year?

Will be telling after this season which QBs stay and which ones move on and if a new one comes in - Wouldn’t be surprised to see some 1AA transfers.

Great tape! Seems to have everything Gleeson is looking for in a QB...throws from the pocket, throws rolling left and right, throws under duress, escapability, designed runs, accurate deep, medium and short throws, good arm strength and nice touch, pretty good speed and athleticism, toughness (played defense).

I really hope either him or Snyder gets a legitimate look in camp.
Just hope they don't get married to Verdal and put blinders on to other options. I don't think they will, but it happens.
I don't think they will, and I think Vedral got the nod this year because the staff had no Spring Practice or Summer Camp to actually evaluate the new QB's on the field.

When have we not seen some players leaving for one reason or another?
Of course, it most likely would have to be a player on a 'ship to get someone else.
We never see 20+ leave, which is what we're talking about this year.

Yes at Delaware or somewhere.

Expect the portal to be overflowing with starting and backup QB’s after the season.

Competition for Art at backup QB should be greater with Snyder/Simon and a potential starter from the portal. I think our QB play next season will improve over 2020 season due to better talent in the system.

He almost lost his leg. Loss of circulation meant immediate surgery with no guarantee he wouldn't lose the leg. Then it got infected and he had to have 3 more surgeries. It's been 2 years since his injury.

Everybody has another year, this one doesn't count for anyone.

I forgot about that. Duh.

something about his legwork bugs me.. cannot quite ID it with such small video.. is it an open stance? is it nearly throwing off the back foot? anyone else notice something? low delivery.. not quite side-arm but on the way to side-arm?

Milton is from Hawaii, would think West Coast. Why would he go to RU?
Odds are he won't give RU a looksee , but it's a long way from Hawaii to Florida.
The weather might have been a factor back then, but now he wants to be in a position to have a chance to impress the pro scouts, a P-5 school like Rutgers could be the way..

It's a longshot getting him, then there's his injury recovery to be concerned about.
Is he fully back to the way he was, or lost something.
At 5-11 ,185, he needs to be 100% back to survive a B1G schedule.

As for roster, wouldn't be surprised if one of the QBs transferred out after this season .

Simon did take his HS team to the State Championship game where he faced a very solid and athletic team from the Pittsburgh area (including a CB who wound up at Penn State who had several TD’s playing on both sides of the ball including a pick 6).

was thinking about this. Or Adrian Martinez, or even Jack Coan. The transfer portal Is the best thing that could have happened to us.
It cuts both ways. We’ve lost some useful players. Jackson, Maietti, Blackshear. Who knows who is next out the door?

Yes and no. The current scholarship limit is 85. We have a full class coming in. But as far as I know, the scholarship limit is not being increased. So, something's gotta give.

I believe the 85 limit is not effect for 2021.
Applies to the 2022 season however.

Lol at the vedral hate. He may not get a statue outside the stadium, but he’s been the best RU qb since nova. Did you think this post ash dumpster fire was going to entice an all conference qb in year 1?
He does a lot of good things and we have scored points in most of our games. I like the kid and the way he plays all in. If he can protect the ball he’s a solid QB for us.

Vedral is the 1st QB to pass for over 1,200 yds since 2015 when Laviano went for 2,200 yds. And that's in 6 games with at least two more to play.

And what do most of our fine fans think of and remember Laviano for? A couple of negative incidents, one after hearing boos when he was inserted back in the game after getting his bell rung. Maybe the fans got what they deserved with that- karma baby.

Improvement yes. However the bar is incredibly low. Vedral has Passing yards per game that ranks #63 out of all FBS QBs. More importantly Vedral QB rating ranks at #91 out of 113 QBs.
We need a better QB to improve RU in the future.
