This is simple. Cal is the choice of the university of Kentucky basketball team. He’s supported by his management. Support the Cats, support Cal. Don’t support Cal, you don’t support the product the University puts on the floor. That’s the cats.
That was deep...mind-bending almost. Certainly not simple. If only the little people had your clarity of thought.

LOL. Yeah, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020 were all anomalies -- all years Kentucky went to the Elite Eight or beyond or, in the case of 2020, won the conference by three games and were in good shape to go at least that far before the tournament was canceled.

I wonder sometimes if people themselves believe the dumbest of the idiotic nonsense they post on this board. I guess I shouldn't underestimate human stupidity.

You cannot reason with stupidity! Most of these morons are too stupid to understand just how toxic they are to UK basketball as a whole.

IMO, you're not wrong, spot on in fact. More and more fans are coming to the same conclusion and are tired of his BS. He's paid a lot of money to COACH and WIN. It seems all we're paying him to do is talk. He is very good at talking. I guess I should at least feel good about that because he's got a line of BS talk that could knock a buzzard off a shat wagon from 50 paces.
And you are what?

Pitino could take this team the FF and maybe win it all.. I don't think Cal can win games with less talented teams.. It's in his nature to want talent, he knows he has to have it or else.. Just look at his time here if he has the best talent he wins a lot of games.. Maybe not the FF but some games.. He has a tendency to tighten up when the games get tight or the other team gets ahead..
He simply can not coach in this modern style games.. Oh he think's he can and still run's the same old tied crap each game after saying he will speed up the game.. I will believe it when I see it for a full season..
We might win 20 games this year with some luck.. But I have my doubts about any think better..
Hope I am wrong, I have been a UK fan for seems like a hundred years..
This suck's to see UK in the shape.. May leave it just like he found it, in a terrible mess..

Just like he did with Louisville. Pitino could take us to 5 years probation easier than he could take us to a final four.

Cal would have choked in the tournament in 2020. He couldn't even control his point guard who was suspended with an uncertain future. Funny how you want to assume that year would have been an EE. LOL at your stupidity.

I love him and I don't think there is a replacement for him even if I didn't. Who, realistically do you expect to replace him with?

If either of us is stupid, its the one who says something that happened seven out of ten years - Cal reaching the Elite Eight or beyond before the 2020 season - had no chance of happening in 2020.

Kentucky had a strong team peaking at the right time. Only a fool blinded by hatred would say Kentucky reaching the Elite Eight in 2020 was unlikely. And by the way -- no one can argue Kentucky won the SEC outright. That's a historical fact. And what I said beyond that was that the Cats were in a good position to go at least as far as the Elite Eight. Also a historical fact. Just keep hating. Its all you appear to be calpable of contributing to the discussion of the Kentucky Wildcats.
Really. So would it be as equally smart to assume that something that hasn't happened since 1927 would have happened LAST year? You are clearly not good at this stuff.

I have as much factual justification predicting a choke job as you do of assuming that was an EE team. You don't know what would have happened, and neither do I, but that didn't stop you from counting it in your 'statistics.' Of course, you glossed over last season, an achievement no UK fan alive has ever witnessed before. Thanks Cal!

There’s this thing called a zone. Duke is not a perimeter shooting team this year. A zone would’ve been the answer to their point blank shots all night, but Cal either doesn’t believe in it or doesn’t know how to teach it.

Sadly, zone defense isn't a thing in the NBA. It's Player's First you know. Suck it all of you Basketball Bennies; you've got your priorities all out of whack!

No way. We were destined to be a 5 seed. That means we would have had to beat a 1 To get to an EE. Wasn’t happening.

For whatever Cal has done, he now is responsible for the lowest on the court low in the history of Kentucky Basketball

Even during almost death penalty probation year we won 13 games - 40% of our schedule

Bringing in a 9-16 team with players that went on to professional teams afterwards? That is unforgivable.

Should be he fired? I don't know. Does he think he has the right to stand up and talk about using the program for generational change after that - I fully support buying a 1 way ticket to the retirement community of his choice the first time he does

He better singularly talk about 1 thing and that's getting back to a #1 seed level team. I have no patience for a coach who doesn't talk about anything but that after last year and allowing Kansas to be in line to pass us in all time wins.

It really doesn't matter if he's your guy or not. The main thing is he's the University of Kentucky Guy.

Just because there is a loud contingent here on Rafters that doesn't like him doesn't mean he doesn't still have the majority of the fanbase.
true

but that isn't the case

between 9-16, kneeling and the general apathy toward the OAD approach that isn't working, regardless of his job security, the folks out and about are done with him. Yes he still has supporters but the number of people that have tuned out Kentucky basketball directly tied to Cal is alarming and I'm sure the administration is aware of it. I"m sure Cal is aware of it. He becomes acutely aware of it when he has to do a PSA begging fans to come to the games.

I'm not blind enough to realize those opinions could change with another championship run but until such time, he isn't going to win any popularity contests

I need citation saying a number of people have tuned out UK basketball. If they did, they weren't fans and good riddance, don't come back when the winning starts

we can start with Rupp Arena reducing the number of seats by about 3K and still can't sell it out.
