Said every Hoosier fan when UK was kicking the **** out of them in the 90’s.

I was elated when Cal came here stayed that way about 5 years, was on the fence for a couple but the last 4 have done me in . Need a new look and a new philosophy and it ain’t Cal. As for this team , they will win 18 or so games in my opinion, certianly better than last year. If Toppin improves as season goes on and Frederick or Washington can become viable scoring options we might make the Sweet 16 , can’t see us having the talent to go much deeper.

I think you better check your history. It happened long before they finally fired Knight. Knight stopped getting the recruits became more entrenched in doing it his way and started a spiral and IU has yet to recover.

Have you been around him on a personal level enough to decide? I have been around him very minimal and I might be way off, but he seemed a little condescending to me.
You do know a team has options other than jacking up 3's when facing a zone...Paolo is deadly from 15ft..he would shoot ft jumpers all night..
Knight started throwing chairs, pushing players, fighting in bars and turned into a raving lunatic. That is what the issue was.

He's too lazy to coach or work on a game plan. He doesn't have to work because his line of BS has carried him this far and there's no point in changing. Besides, his IRA is fully funded.

I'd take my chances with him shooting jump shots instead of him punking the whole UK team.
IMO, you're not wrong, spot on in fact. More and more fans are coming to the same conclusion and are tired of his BS. He's paid a lot of money to COACH and WIN. It seems all we're paying him to do is talk. He is very good at talking. I guess I should at least feel good about that because he's got a line of BS talk that could knock a buzzard off a shat wagon from 50 paces.
As bad as all those misses were, and we were thought to be the strong leader on 3 of those with a great shot at the other, the most egregious one of all is Cockburn IMO. That kid wanted to come here. The best big guy in the nation and the best we would have had in years and UK wouldn’t give him the time of day. All due to Cal prioritizing Duren and some of our players not wanting to bring Kofi in.
Same situation played out with Lively and Bona for the most part. Bona wanted to come here but Cal prioritized Lively. Cost us Bona.
These two sets of recruitments are basically the story of Cal at UK. Year after year our teams have the same deficiencies and make the same mistakes. You’d think he’d learn from the many, many years worth of evidence and fix what doesn’t work. But......

I remember listening to Cal on Jim Rome in like April/May of 2006. Was totally blown
away by his salesmanship. My mom was living in Memphis at the time and Cal was doing big things with his charity work on top of his coaching of the tigers. I decided way way back then I wanted Cal at UK. Changed my signature on here to what it is now the day we hired him. I was so happy when he came.
And I guess that’s really what I mean. I like John Calipari the man. I have been vocal about my displeasure with the trajectory of the program for about four years now. I thought last year was completely unacceptable and I don’t see the current team as much of a return to form.
He’s awful. Not among the top 25. He needed to go 3 years ago. #CLOD
Cal hasn't been my guy since the debacle against Auburn in the final Eight and don't forget the year before that when all we had to do was beat Kansas State and Loyola to to the FF.Great Salesman but unless he's got Elite Talent,a very average coach so his rhetoric has grown old with me and as a fan base, we're starting to accept mediocrity and that's sad.

Yes Cal still just doesn’t make in game adjustments - take Duke struggling to make jumpers yet we got guys out guarding 30’ from the basket continuously getting beat off dribble.
