You're still here? I guess you have nothing better to do than nitpick people you hate. Good for you, I guess. My post stands regardless. Cal made an ill-advised statement on radio and you showed up to White Knight for him, and you devolved into your usual schtick of personal attacks. Your opinions are beneath contempt.
I don't hate anyone.

Without hearing the conversation I’m guessing the point was, as others have pointed out, to say if you’re asking for an inducement to play here and your transfer conversation starts with “how much will you guarantee me to come to UK” then you’re not wanted because that’s a clear violation. Obviously schools are doing that but we all know UK is under a microscope.

I’d bet he’s also doing a not-so-subtle F you to someone specific, probably the Baylor kid’s agent.

You're still battling on? You mixed your Cal hate and a lack of understanding about the NIL into an ill advised post, you've been shot down. You could just take the L, but you continue to pick at minutiae. Good for you, I guess.
Speaking of taking the L...
You and that dopey Lowcountryboil should be permabanned the second it becomes fact that Sharpe is staying. You wish nothing but trouble on the team and your every utterance reeks like a drunks farts.
I was right about Sharpe. So you can suck a fat bag of 'em.

You should have known what I was going to say next.

If he isn't interested in players only out for money, then why did he take Sharpe?

His behavior here is INCONSISTENT.

Because he was told the kid was going to play next year.

Why can't you understand that simple fact, it's not complicated, even a hillbilly can understand it. Cal didn't think the Sharpe situation would go down the way it did, and it's completely obvious. There is zero upside to him believing anything else. Sharpe didn't need UK/Cal to make NIL money or to get drafted. It's not like Sharpe helped recruiting or that his help was needed.

If someone working for me lies to my face then that's on them, the same applies to Cal.

Let's see if you're right. If Cal is truly principled and cares about being conned, he won't be at draft night hugging it out with Sharpe, right? Let's see if you're right. Your next response or lack thereof will indicate what you think is going to happen.

And again, the "hillbilly" crack. You really are a nasty person - hating on Kentucky fans because of where they live. You're a phony.

He's an admitted troll.
Your reading comprehension continues to keep pace with your overall stupidity. I have never admitted to any such thing. I am an actual, real life fan of the Kentucky basketball program. I have made it very clear why I'm currently at odds with morons like yourself, and the other bad mouthing pile of nothing who joined this board after the season just to pile on. You've all had run of this place long enough. You don't come here to express opinions, you come here to parrot ONE opinion, over and over again. It's time people came back and started shouting you undisciplined children down. Treat you like the pathetic babies you are.

Oh well, if you say so it must be true. You get to just pick and choose what you deem relevant from all I've said. If this is the way people around you let you argue , they have recognized how incredibly childish you truly are. So they tolerate your child like logic and fit throwing. Very telling.

Other programs have bigger and better financial connections to work with. Any coach here is going to have to deal with it, so we better hope there’s a cap put on it soon or it’s all she wrote

No, you said it. Scroll up to the post you quoted, I included it. I know you don't want to see it, but it's there in all its glory. Stop crying, it's embarrassing.

And here's another "L" in the treasure trove of FTP000's greatest hits:
More useless drivel from another know it all blowhard. I ain't hanging off nothing. We already have 26 wins, I'll go ahead and predict another. Trust me blowhard, Cal's job is safe. Keep hollering like a big spoiled child. Lay on the ground and kick your stupid feet. It means nothing to anyone who matters. Hide and watch, you nothing.

27 wins, eh? Good call, Nostradamus.
This attitude right here us why the rest of the country points and laughs at the ridiculous, spoiled children in our fan base. We are a top 10 team, a projected 2 seed, 27 wins and counting. And you honestly believe that because you and your hunting buddies aren't satisfied, our hall of fame coach should be on the carpet!? Get over yourself, your opinion is meaningless to the people who write the checks. You don't know how good you have it.

Wow even your 'apologies' are laced with childish whining. Maybe you should tone down the "stupid" and "mental midget" talk, eh skippy? Or should I look up some more quotes?

You said I should be permabanned for incorrectly predicting Sharpe was gone, even though I was right. Are you going to self-ban now?

Cal made it sound like HE IS the one who negotiates these deals.

"The problem is the NIL shouldn't be a part of (The transfer portal) and its becoming a part of it and if anyone is talking to me about NIL as part of transfer, I'm not really interested"

He was talking about the Baylor kid. Mitch hates NIL. The Baylor kid wanted a guarantee similar to what that Miami kid wanted.

Anyway, that is how I read those comments.

Then why did Cal say it? Making it public can ONLY HURT recruiting.

Maybe Cal is trying to shift blame away from himself. This smacks of a shot across the bow at his bosses.
Do you sit in your mothers basement at night dreaming up this stupid **** to post ? Ok we all know you look for any and everything to ***** about concerning Cal . Just be satisfied with that and shut the hell up

Cal just announced that he will not participate in NIL transfer bidding wars.

Cal doesn't write checks. Mitch does.

Cal's apparently been told what his cap is.

He's not going to be able to compete for top flight transfers.

Is he planning an exit strategy? He might negotiate a smaller but still substantial buyout and head for the door like Tubby did.

Remember, Wright just retired, likely because he saw this coming and wanted his legacy preserved. So did K and Roy. Can Cal work through the frustration he's about to endure?

EDIT: It's been brought to my attention that the NIL is not paid or authorized by the University, so why would Cal even mention this?
Smart move on Cal's part.

I didn't make a bet, nor did I ask you to voluntarily leave. Either way, in spite of being wrong on the number of wins, my main point stands. No amount of your kicking and screaming has made any difference.
I have said several times that I thought Cal did a terrible job at the end of the season. I was as surprised and disappointed as anyone. I buried my Kentucky shirts under the rest of my shirts, and pulled out a different hat to fish in. But I still know, in spite of all that, Cal is in no danger of being fired after a 26 win/2 seed season, even with the historic bad loss. It hasn't worked that way with other top teams ( see Virginia), and it was hever going to happen here. So what's the use of continuing to yell about it?

We're allowed to give these kids money to play for us now and now we don't want to? !!
Coach Cal got to go.
We got put on probation for giving money to players and now we can do it legally and we're not going to?
You have got to go Coach Cal if that's how you think cuz we ain't going to win another championship with that kind of ********.
You give the best players whatever the **** they want and you do it with a smile or we find another coach. They deserve their money. Quit playing games with something you ain't going to be around 4 in 5 years.
This lit me up when I heard about. We ain't going to pay players? You lost your damn mind?
PAY THEM.
Man if we didn't have Oscar tshiebwe we would be totally freaking screwed with coach Cal now.
If he can get a championship out of Oscar next year he is retiring.

Eric Musselman Bruce Pearl's who we need. They pay they do what they got to do. This is bulshit man

Read more than just the headline, there's a lot more to this than you are considering. Cal doesn't pass out the the NIL money, and "we" can't pay players.

I don't get the "Is Cal gone" on a simple reply that Cal won't get into these big bidding wars for Players. It seems to be it is happening more with the Transfers wanting this huge NIL Package + demanding the amount of minutes played each game. I think Cal was probably discussing Baylor Scheierman and the NIL demands + demanding certain amount of playing time. It seems like we have been hearing this from other Head Coaches about the huge demands on NIL Deals. I know with most recruits and transfers there will be plenty of NIL opportunities but it seems to be now upfront the Players are telling the Head Coaches before transferring want they are looking for in big NIL deals. I am sure the NCAA will eventually have to get involve and set a Cap per year for NIL deals and set guidelines on how the NIL will work across the board in the NCAA especially in Basketball & Football.

A head coach ceases to be the head coach when he allows players to dictate how much playing time they get and how they are going to showcase their abilities. BS has an idea of how he wants to play. That probably works at a mid-major, but probably not at high D1. Both UK and Kansas have been eliminated by BS coincidentally. Cal absolutely made the right call on BS...to slow down recruitment. Further, I'm not so sure that BS is a can't miss piece of a championship team...especially if he is used as a facilitator of the offense and demanding the ball in his hands.

NIL is secondary. Opportunities for NIL money at UK will be there. That being said, you can't have kids demand X dollars to come. Again, you can't let players dictate to a coach. In both cases, Cal is right for his handling of the BS situation.

Now the Sharpe situation and the playing time decisions are a whole other discussion.
