nope. This is Rutgers. We will tease, but never actually be a good team.

Textbook definition of "wet blanket"

Nope, sorry, I’m with Lus in this one. There is no ‘almost’ column, only wins and losses. How many times have we lost games like this??? Too many to count. 0-5 in home sellouts??? Come on...and people complain about RU’s overall lack of fan support. Stats like that don’t help.

So do you think that based on this game means "we'll never be good"?

No moral victory this was a bad loss. But if you can't at least be optimistic about this team, then I don't know what to tell you

You, know, it's people like you that are really a$$holes. No it's NOT the same result. You wouldn't have started this STUPID thread if Myles had dunked the ball instead of throwing it outside. Or if Geo finally made a damn shot in this game. Sorry pal, but if you don't like where this team is going, then stop following it. This is NOT the "same old Rutgers" ********.

IF they had.....but, they didn't.

Look, everyone is optimistic. No one is not a fan. No one is saying they will no longer watch on TV or go to games. NO ONE.

What we are saying is - TODAY, and for another GAME, another SEASON, another CHANCE, another OPPORTUNITY, Rutgers once again cannot win a game they should win. Cannot win at home, cannot win with the ball in their hands at the buzzer, cannot win by making a layup, cannot win after. great steal, cannot win after an amazing pass, cannot win after a bunch of chances at the buzzer. Etc. Etc.

While we are all excited about the prospect of this ball team, it just seems, after this heartbreaker, that we can't catch a damn break, and that is very Rutgers, and we are sick of it in general. The difference between a win and a loss in this game is pretty damn big in a few ways, the fact that we played like crap early on is one bad thing, and then the fact that we laughably couldn't win at the end, the way it played out is even worse. Its not like we played Purdue and came up losing by 4 points at home - We lost at the end of a game to Pedo State because we couldn't make a darn layup - something that has plagued us all year. It sucks. Its Rutgers-esque. It is what it is.

I think Pike is great, I think the program has made serious serious strides....but its games like this that make me wonder if this is gong to happen next year and the year after and the year after....will we ever actually get over the hump and be a good, contending program? Hopefully. This game does not negate our strides this year, nor does it predict that we won't be good next year - but gosh darnet if it doesn't let some serious doubt creep in. com'on man, this was very disappointing.

Give the guy a break ... easy to get down and frustrated coming up short again.

Beat Indy and earn that bye. Lose and finish 11 or 12. Maybe get some help from Illinois too.

We were one shot from possibly going to the NIT. I don't believe there is anyone on this board that expected to do this well.
So I am going to continue to enjoy the rest of the season, and looking forward to next year.

if you’re a Rutgers fan and you expected anything different today I just feel bad for you. Saw this coming a mile away. This was such a guaranteed result. Especially when Vegas releases that line... Rutgers athletics is simply cursed.
Does it seem like the Rutgers athletics M.O. - when a big defining game is on the line, a letdown. *sigh*. Still, gotta love this team. They should be a force in the future.

I am a RU fan and always will be. The guys played an amazing second half but were not ready to play in the first half. why I don't know but they have had a really exciting season so far and still have a few more games to play. Our future looks bright. I feel sorry for the guys especially Geo. He did not have a good game tonight and I know that no one feels worse than he does. I hope they can bounce back on Sunday.

You are acting like we never win close games. But you conveniently forget all the close wins THIS YEAR. Statistically speaking, with even talent and experience you will win 50% of the 1 possession games. We typically have less talent and experience but I think we are still over 500 in 1 possession games this year.

The problem is, we shouldn't have been in a 1 possession game. Play with even 25% effort in the first half and we win.

Why no NIT? Beat IU then 1-1 in tourney??

NO NIT! Enough already. It wasn't happening without a run to the Big Ten final, or maybe -- maybe -- at least the semis. Do you not even look at the NET rankings? Our good wins barely get us in the conversation because of how low we were -- 98 after beating Iowa.

The ONLY good thing about this loss is all the nonsensical bubble chatter will cease. Now just settle in and pull for a nice Big Ten Tournament run.
