Woke up to see Iowa beat Wisconsin 42-10. Iowa changes offensive coordinators and has scored 38 points or more in five games. Meanwhile we have only scored over 38 points once. Iowa also rushed for 329 yards against Wisconsin. What is even worse is seeing Colorado ranked and bowl eligible. And not to mention Iowa State being in the top ten until their loss yesterday. There is no excuse for getting worse and not making any changes.

Now I fear the team will be 5-6 going into black friday and Iowa will be fired up to put the nail in the coffin in that game. It's going to be yet another miserable time having to deal with the Iowa side of my family and coworkers once again.

None of you realize it takes at least 3 years to build a program and see progress!

What else have we heard...culture change...right play makers....buy-in...more NIL donations.... blah blah blah....

I've had to really think about whether or not I was renewing my season tickets for the past 3 years. As this season has regressed into absolute crap coaching/play...this may be my last year. Way to expensive to see this crap with no improvement.

We almost beat Iowa with gimp-armed option QB just three years ago. Now three years later with all kinds of new coaches, money, five stars etc. they will likely beat the stuffing out of us. Is that progress?

Not sure I give a **** about the eternal 7-5 or 8-4 Kirk Ferentz football team.

They accept complete mediocrity and occasional Top 25 appearances.

We suck. But being Iowa suck is a whole other level of suck and cope.

Dude is in his 25th season as head coach, is 201-122 and has never won an outright B10 Championship and never even finished in the Top 10 of the polls at the end of any season.

There is suck, and then there is accepting 25 years of mediocre results at best and bragging about it suck.

And predictably, several of the experts on this board mocked Iowa for hiring Tim Lester. His name didn't show up as a hot OC hire in their Google searches.

Honestly couldn’t blame you for not wanting to renew season tickets. Why pay, have to drive down there, only to be let down? I’m pissed off watching this crap without leaving the house! What a waste of 3 hrs of my life…of all Husker Foitball Fans lives!

8-4 doesn't suck. Being the only team in Power 5 that cannot quality for one of the 43 bowl games for 10 years straight? That sucks.

Somewhat true.

Bowl games are a blast no matter how good, awful, or great your team is.

We stunk, but the 2005 Alamo Bowl against Michigan was amazing fun because neither fan base gave a **** and just looking to have a good time.

Is it better to have an identity, know who you are and accept mediocrity, have a winning record, and go to bowls every year or be like us and not accept it, yet still be worse than Iowa?

Pretty sure we at least want to be better.

We were at the Peak of all Mountains at one time. The very best of the best. Obviously we all yearn for that once again. I'd rather go 4-8 and try, as opposed to sit back and accept mediocrity.

I get what you’re saying and I definitely don’t want our team to be what Iowa is over the last 25 years. The fact remains we are not even at Iowa’s level.

We flat out suck on game day. It isn’t because we aren’t talented or have the resources…we do! Each year we have everything to at least be a 7-5 team or better except this program is lazy, is never prepared, has no urgency to win, the culture sucks! It has sucked really since the end of the Pelini era. Nebraska Football will suck until new blood changes the culture. I think it has to start with replacing players that are underperforming/constantly screwing up and getting rid of some assistants.

Iowa has the identity we need. Run the ball and keep defense honest with smart PA passes. And play sound defense that rarely gives up big plays. Their players were in the right spots on defense. Ours are poorly coached

You're not wrong to have high expectations. And your disdain for Iowa is admirable. But from where I'm coming from the 90's are long gone. It seems this team's "corn cob up their ***" approach to competing matches the high expectations mentality of the fan base. Heck, we were debating on here this week of whether the players even wanted to go to a bowl game because it wasn't the playoffs. It was almost as if playing in a December bowl game is beneath them. For the love of God, just play a decent football game in November!

OK. Rant over. Sorry if it doesn't make sense.

I like your "try" comment. Watching UCLA control 13 minutes of the clock in the first quarter. Sometimes I wish we could man up and zero blitz them just like they are blitzing us. I get tired of teams scheming our defense and we don't have an answer.

This is what I though Rhule wanted to do, but he doesn't have the discipline to stick to it. He talks about wanting to be this way but then hires a staff that doesn't have this mindset. We need a coach with a killer instinct who knows how to stick to his plan. The one thing Iowa is good at is they don't try and be something they are not. That's the problem Wisconsin is having right now as well. I don't want to accept being a 8-4 or 7-5 team and want to keep trying until we figure it out, but have no faith in our current administration to make the right choice.

You know, if Jeff sims wasn’t a turn over machine the offense would have been decent. That bozo just gave the ball away. If he could have ran that system clean I think we would have had a nice record last year.

Iowa is playing a dual threat and their offense loooks like a version of osbornes. I’m jealous.

Dude, they are 5-3 with embarrassing losses to Michigan State and Ohio State with a 25th year coach.

Wasn’t Cade McNamara the QB for those losses? I’m not sure. I don’t watch them. But I did last night and they looked like how we need to look as far as identify. I don’t care about their history or really anything about them. Just that they looked impressive last night

Fantastic.

You are now an Iowa 8-4 fan who'll end up in the Citrus Bowl and get embarrassed by an SEC team.

Hey, at least you only get your **** pushed in once or twice a year.

I’ll never understand why anyone on this board starts a thread about Iowa. All it does is attract trolls.

It does seem like there is less Iowa trolling this year. I suppose that is a result of Nebraska football’s current state of irrelevance.

Had to check that “never finished in the top 10 at the end of any season” claim. You are way off. I remember them having a really good run in Kirks early years and there was actually a stretch they finished 8th in the AP three years in a row. Plus another couple other years. They looked impressive especially on the ground and lines last night

Is Iowa a mediocre program? YES

Will Iowa beat Nebraska this year? ABSOLUTELY!

I don’t think either point can be argued. Most people aren’t even talking about Iowa anyways. We’re too busy talking **** about our own program and deservedly so!

The time has come to stop supporting this program. If the fans FINALLY stop coming to games and stop writing checks then change will happen. Rhule needs to go. He is clearly neither a good judge of athletic talent nor a judge of good coaches. Time to admit this was yet another bad coaching hire.
