Frost has shown a lot in his young coaching career. Last year was tough, but he righted the ship the second half of the season.
You are asking why we think things will be different... Frost is a much better coach. The jury is out on Chinander for sure... but if disco is so much better, how do you explain the difference between this year and last year? 3 point loss in Iowa vs 30 point loss in Lincoln last year.
Did the kids give up? Yep. But even after 0-6, they never gave up this year. They will play hard for him.
I would say the ceiling is much higher for Frost and Co. just my opinion.

Take out the Nebraska game....you still lost 4 games. Ferentz still received his bonus and it was a mediocre schedule.
Ferentz has the cushiest job in the country. One divisional title in 8 years and the guy keeps getting raises. Have to love it.
SF will end up beating Iowa 6-7 out of 10 or I’ll be the first to admit I was wrong. History is on my side. TO, Solich and Pelini all had .750 or better winning percentages over Iowa.
Nebraska is in the top 8 of wins all time with the likes of Oklahoma and Alabama, so yeah the Nebraska football program is closer to those schools. KF does not have a winning record against Nebraska, so until he does or Iowa wins a B1G championship Maybe slow your roll.
The fact that you can't see his point, that we are historically just like those teams and that they went through similar down cycles, before returning to the top, makes me chuckle (and a little sad for you).

I understand that the most recent 6 year time frame is the most success we’ve had and will ever have against Nebraska. We are lucky to have KF and he has helped Iowa football reach its peak of winning on average 7-8 games a season. Iowa will never be an elite recruiter, but I am happy Iowa develops players for the NFL.”
See, it’s honest and straight forward and gives an accurate depiction of the Iowa football program.

Has there ever been a reasonable Iowa fan over here? I’ve never read of one, they simply cannot be objective about Nebraska football. I assume that’s why some simply respond with “Iowa sucks” in these threads.

I hear you, it seems the only point they’ve been trying to make is that Iowa has had some short term, recent success against Nebraska in football and that point has been conceded on multiple occasions. I’ve yet to read a reasonable response to any of the myriad of stats and facts that work against the Iowa fan narrative. Generally they turn any discussion into a vituperative rant.
