The way I see it, for Nebraska and Iowa to really mean anything, they need to pull off miracle seasons and meet at the end of the year undefeated, otherwise, it won't be much more than a blip on the national radar. When or if that happens, we'll really have something to look forward to!

Couldn’t agree more with what you said. I wanted Kirk gone after 2014 and I stand by that. I’d give up 12-2 in 2015 to see what the program could be now. And yes, I’m aware it could be worse.
Iowa’s best shot for national relevance came and went in 2015. Teams that recruit in the 30s-50s need a lot of help. For example, in 2015, Iowa had a very favorable schedule (hence the fake id designation), close games fell in their favor, stayed healthy at key positions and they got an easier then normal match up in the B1G champ game. The fact that all of those factors worked in Iowa’s favor and they couldn’t get it done, tells me they will probably never get it done.

Iowa will be fine next year they just reload, a good spring practice showing and they should be the fav to win the West.

Oh I agree. The Italians are a mess too. But the point is that the EU, with its single currency, is designed to favor those countries that aren’t a mess, like Germany and France. In the past, whenever the Italian economy went into recession, they would just devalue the lire artificially, thus making Italian good cheaper for export and boost tourism. Now the can’t. Granted, artificially devaluing your currency is a lousy way of running your economy. But for many Italians it worked.
Discussing the fake id season, 2015. Iowa fan was up in arms with the designation. I was just pointing out one difference between the Iowa and Nebraska fan bases. Most Nebraska fans would respond more like, “we can only play the teams on our schedule.” While Iowa fan responds with anger and denial. Once proven that the designation was correct, Iowa fan was still unable to come to terms with the facts.
BTW, most message board Iowa fans are the same with unoriginal responses therefore I just use the singular “Iowa fan”.

We husker fans know why Iowa fan cannot be objective when it comes to Nebraska football, it’s just too bad most Iowa fans can’t come to grips with those reasons. Whereas most Nebraska fans are objective about Iowa football.

And to your question, considering we only play 9 conference games a year, and a 10th in the CCG, I think nebraska will never win MORE THAN 10 games a year under the current format. And I would put a ton of money on that.

teams that do not have elite recruiting (ranked 30s-50s) need everything to fall their way in order for them to compete nationally, for example 2015 Iowa.

Just as a follow up to this national championship gibberish you keep speaking, there are like 8 teams in the nation that have a legitimate shot at winning a national championship so that recruitting number you throw around is BS. A lot of it is a weaker schedule, but Nebraska has been picked by some national media as a darkhorse playoff candidate.
Should the stars align and something like that happen, the end of the season could be similar to 2015 Iowa.
But Nebraska is getting some positive press outside of the cornhusker state.
“National Championship” gibberish? If Nebraska ever gets into the conversation it will definitely be in part due to recruiting if Iowa ever gets into the conversation it will be in spite of recruiting.
Everything went Iowa’s way in 2015 and they couldn’t do it, when do you expect literally everything to go Iowa’s way again? 2015 Iowa had a weak schedule,they won all the close games during the regular season, they kept everyone significant healthy and they got to play a weak team from the East.
I’m not off my game at all, just waiting for something original or enlightening from Iowa fan, I guess I’ll continue to wait.
