The Hawks (3-2,1-1) travel to Madison to take on Wisconsin (2-3,0-2) in a Saturday night for a big ten pillow fight. Both teams trying to stay alive for a low level bowl game.

Two of the worst offenses in America face off so the firework coordinator should have an easy night of work.

So buckle up and bring a pillow because you’ll likely need a quick nap. I think the badgers get their revenge 16-13 in an ugly ugly game.

Hawks vs Wis. is better described as a " slobberknocker" as opposed to pillow fight.

Some fans do not like physical FB...go take your nap and dream of FB in summer dresses...these boys gonna be hitting....

I tend to agree with this sentiment, and for fun looked up past 10 seasons just the other day on how we do coming out of bye weeks... Some of them were interesting tidbits..

Have a 4-6 record

2015 won vs MD 31 15
2016 lost to psu 41 14
2017 lost to NU 17 10
2018 won vs minnesota 48 31
2019 lost to wisconsin 24 22
2021 lost to wisconsin 27 7
2022 lost to Ohio st 54 10
2023 won over NU 10 7
2024 lost to Ohio st 35 7 and won vs MD 29 13

(2 L to osu, 2 L to wisconsin, 1 L to psu, 1 L to NU)
(Wins are 1 NU, 2 MD, 1MN)


So, data wise, not boding well vs. Wisconsin out of byes.. 🙄

LOL. Bye weeks are irrelevant when you're losing to these teams regardless of the schedule. What is Iowa's record against PSU and OSU when not coming off of bye weeks? Wisconsin had won 8 out of 10 vs Iowa from 2010 to 2021.

Iowa is 112 in Yards Per Play and Wisconsin is 117. Out of 136.

Iowa is 15th in Yards Per Play on defense and Wisconsin is 74th. For reference Iowa State is 67th and Indiana is 24th.

Iowa scored 2 TD's in total against Iowa State and Indiana

if you have no wide receivers at all before the bye week, then do you suddenly find them during the off time? do you come back after your time off with wide receivers you suddenly found? do you find them wandering the streets of Coralville?

I had confidently predicted that next year would be KF last year at Iowa. I still feel that way for a variety of reasons. And ultimately that prediction depends on a game or situation which signals the beginning of a spiral or decline that would be impossible to allow to continue beyond next season. This game and circumstances surrounding it have the ingredients to be that moment. Hope not but important to keep an eye on it.
