Iowa's own Shannon LeBeauf (Perry) is the new associate head coach for Rutgers. They pried her away from her hometown team UCLA. I think she will be the next Rutgers head coach. Besides, she was a C. Vivian Stringer recruit at Iowa.

I think this too!

So you are watching the games and posting here, what does it say about you. Troll? In a lot of aspects the girls game has better fundamental play than the men’s game.
He’s a troll but that myth has been dispelled for me after watching women’s basketball closely for 4 years. For the most part, it is decidedly not beautiful basketball with crisp back door cuts and passing, and skilled shooting.

We'll just have to wait and see. Hannah's highlights from her Junior Olympic experience were very impressive and remember she was injured for most of last season.

This year Ava is getting most of the touches down low so far and that may change when double teams come for her in the heart of the Big Ten season.

I don't think anybody is gonna outrebound Iowa with those two down low all season.
I think your comment on her time on team USA is spot on, and it goes back to her earlier success in the final4 teams. She's most comfortable as a role player/3 or 4th option. The whole leader/go to player just doesn't seem to be her mental makeup. She's a good athlete, and seems like a really nice young lady, but I just don't see "the dog" in her. The kind of fire you saw from CC22, but many others, Kate, Gabby, Syd. And this years team I see that kind of fire from Stremlow, and honestly from Levin in her limited minutes.

Not so far. Layla shot 46% in high school supposedly. Keep drawing those fouls though. That helps as well....
I hope she improves. If she's shooting under 50% from the line that's a lot of empty offensive possessions. Hannah's not a good FT shooter either but she was able to get from the 40's to the 60's over the course of her career. Hopefully Hays can take that same trajectory.

Rutgers didn't have an Athletic Director at the end of last season. Also their athletic department is running at a huge deficit. So it was said that there was no way that a temp AD was going to fire her and buy out her $770,000 salary with money they don't have. She signed a 6 year contract in 2022.😬
I was actually wondering what her salary was last night as I watched her underwhelming team in a quarter-full gym.

Strange set of economics when a coach can pull that type of salary in that situation. She's pretty close to Jan's salary.

I'm beginning to wonder if this is a Final Four caliber team by the end of the year. I don't see a glaring weakness. They've already got great chemistry and considering the number of freshmen and sophomores playing you would expect that to only improve over the course of the season.
I said elite eight back when you still crapped on their ceiling so we'll stick with that
