The continued bashing of Jan is incomprehensible. The team has exceeded all expectation
Is there some rule against playing a complete game?
Asking for a friend.
The lack of preparation in the 1st half of the Indiana game resembled the sloppiness of the 2nd half tonite.

It's concerning, or should be.
Jan was Heavily using the bench, we were never going to lose that game. Our starters were better at every position. Reward the bench , give them minutes, protect the starters from injuries and rest them for Michigan. I am sure it got more ugly than Jan hoped, but is a team sport

Stop that kind of talk. Win both half’s now!

Just finished watching Ole Miss vs LSU.

The athleticism difference is glaring.

Sometimes the other team plays well. Purdue played aggressive and hit shots. And they pressed in the 2nd half. Iowa didn’t take their foot off as much as Purdue exploited what has been a huge problem with turnovers.
Pressing does not always equal agressive. Purdue pressed but should have given up points off it. Jan seemed happy to just get it across and run clock.

So Jan told her players to stop playing hard? The old “took your foot off their throat pedal” isn’t an intentional thing. And we’re already short handed down McCabe and Stuelke was out tonight. Our starters played a lot of minutes. Houston played 28 minutes. She normally plays 10-12? Mallegni got more minutes tonight without Stuelke and of course Heiden got in a bit of foul trouble. Got a big lead and were never in trouble. Let’s hope Hannah can get back for Michigan.
See my last post.

I love the opinion that any criticism of Jan means you don’t like her or want her gone. This isn’t a high school popularity contest.
I like Jan I think she does a very good job and will be very successful.
but let’s not act like she’s (or any coach) is beyond reproach. I think Jan needs to work officials harder and in tonight’s game she needed to be a bit more demanding of her girls.
Purdue was buttery soft, this wasn’t some tough quick defense. Tonight’s goal should have been about developing a mindset. I think it was an opportunity missed.

Chat had maybe her worst game .
No Hannah.
Shoot 59%from the field ,47% from arc.
Road win by 9.
Ok by me.

Journey, stremlow, Kylie and ava carried us.

2 soph and frosh.....nice.

Even with all the terrible turnovers, Chat going 6pts. ( 1-7 *1-5 * 3-6 ) is the most glaring stat. Bad weekend to glitch, so hopefully she gets back on target Sunday. No Hannah helping with her experience helping the break, no Hannah on defense, no Hannah rebounding. Pretty much the story of this game.

*Jensen's Hawkeyes are 21-5. Fire everybody!
Chit-Chat was off. Body language was off. Maybe she wasn't feeling well. In any event, she's been fantastic, so if she's healthy on Sunday, I'm confident we'll see her return to form. Even LeBron and Michael had bad games. Look it up.

I agree. She looked "different" from what we've seen all season.

19 turnovers is not good against any team

Hawks led by 26 pts in second qtr and got beat 42-32 in second half. They just shouldn’t happen.
But it does . . . in the NBA, in middle school, everywhere basketball is played. Everywhere sports is played. Purdue never quit. They have some shooters. When you get a huge lead so early, sometimes it's difficult to maintain the intensity that got you there, especially in the long grind of a college basketball season. Iowa won comfortably. It was one game. Move on to the next one.

That may not be the worst strategy when you have a 24-point lead and win easily. Just sayin'.

Ole Miss didn’t make a shot in the 4th Quarter. What did that dumbass Coach Yo say to her players??!!
I love the Cote McMahon experiment of moving her to pt guard. 8-25 from the field and 2 assists. Now that is efficient. But man, look at how athletic those girls are!

You'll have to excuse him. He's president of the Hannah Stuehlke fanclub.
He did at least say, "maybe" best player. Ava has taken that mantle in my book. If she puts in the kind of work she did after last season, she could take over Betts spot as top post in the league next season, and AA candidate...

Oh there's no doubt that Ava's the best player on the team and one of the best players in the country today. I don't think anyone with a clear mind would argue otherwise. There's a reason she's one of the 30 Naismith finalists this year.

I said without maybe your best player. There’s an argument for both.
I'm not going to argue with with the president of the Hannah Stuelke Fan Club, but statistics suggest otherwise and only one of them is a Naismith finalist. Just sayin'....🙂

My comment isn't intended to be critical of Chat. Just saying that her having an unusual off game will skew a result that wasn't as impressive as some might hope. I'd bet she has a big bounce back Sunday.

IMO she has been a bit off (for her) last two games. Hope it is nothing long-term

I worry a bit about her minutes since T Mac got hurt, She averages 33 minutes a game on the season, Upped to 39 mpg since the injury. Another by product of a shortened bench.

Thought she played great in Lincoln. Handled pressure without screens routinely throughout the game, had some big buckets. Some uncharacteristic turnovers, but if you watch the game again they weren't necessarily ill-advised passes or getting her pocket picked.
