The Hawkeyes (20-5, 11-3) travel to West Lafayette to face Purdue (12-13, 4-10).

This is a bad boilermaker team, although they did knock off Washington at home a month ago. This is a game the hawks should win easy but as we know playing on the road is always an adventure with this squad.

Hawks can’t be looking ahead to Michigan. Game tonight is for all-time series lead. Currently 40-40. Purdue freshman big Avery Gordon had an Iowa scholarship offer, but was an early Purdue commit. An efficient scorer in limited minutes. Gordon and Layla Hays were 1-2 in ESPN post recruiting rankings in the ‘25 class.

Yes, this should be an excellent scrimmage to prepare for the Sunday showdown vs. the Wolverines.

We will have played 2 games since Michigan's last game. Hopefully they will be rusty instead of rested.

Losing Layden-Zay is a big blow for Purdue, IMO more consequential to their team than Iowa losing McCabe. Hawkeyes should roll.

I hope to see expanded minutes for Journey Houston. Would also be nice to see some good minutes from Hays.

Yes, not to be mean but the announcers are usually terrible. Last game on the plus the stream was causing a few issues too

Good point. I just noticed that this morning. Kind of a weird scheduling quirk. But it seems most teams come off breaks rusty. Either way, there's nothing Iowa can do about it, so just play hard and smart and pick up another W. Then Michigan and the broadcasters can offer all the excuses they want, but it won't matter.

I love the way Stremlow plays. She's a junkyard dog, but she's also talented, including making some amazing passes. She's a key to this team's success, no doubt about it.

BTW: The acrobatics are cool, but that stuff does make me nervous. It would be a horrible way to get hurt and miss time, so have fun, Hawkeyes, but be careful out there. I know, you can get hurt walking to class, but still . . .

So, watch Fly Hippie and on a different screen turn on the YouTube radio broadcast. Pause the radio to get them to sync up. Do I have that right?

Ain't technology great!
