That's the Tony Perkins Iowa needs, and that's the one we've seen flashes of, especially late last season. When Perkins plays like that, Iowa is an especially dangerous team. And don't overlook the fact that Iowa led by 10 at the half with virtually no contributions from either Rebraca or Murray. The rest of the guys, led by Tony P, stepped up once again and took care of business. The last four games, these Hawkeyes have been more than the sum of their parts, and that's what makes a winning streak. I would agree with those who say PMac's return is good for this team, but he should be coming off the bench the rest of the season. PMac's return adds depth and versatility, but 4-0 without him makes it clear his role should be as a spark off the bench. Let's hope his return is seamless and that this team continues to improve and win with a new hero every time out.
And give Ulis credit for hitting some big shots and generally playing well too. He and Perkins definitely played their best games of the year. With Ulis and Perkins playing at the level of last night, the Hawkeyes are a vastly better team.
