I like this lineup... but the fellas ain't been playing so well lately

to me... the positive energy is down... so that's what I will be looking for early... when these fellas are confident, they click.
and when they click, they're tough to beat.

and not just that... but I hate Indiana basketball.
and I think I heard Indiana is ranked 15th
this one could be a barn burner

4-16 after the first break... Hawkeyes struggling to score points
probably need a spark off the bench

Didn’t touch him but good ole Courtney blows the whistle.

It would do Sandfort well to cut the heat checks. What was that five feet behind the line? He can get that shot any time and Iowa had all the momentum.

Nice job by the Hawks battling back though. Forcing some turnovers, they’ve cut down on them on the offensive end, and finally hitting some shots. Keep playing scrappy boys!

Ulis is really not playing great. Hope Fran rides Bowen more in the second half. Hawks will have a great opportunity to possibly get Geronimo out of the game with fouls in the second half too which would pretty much mitigate any Indiana post advantage

Overall, have to feel pretty good about where the Hawks are at given where they started

Since when can you grab the rim with the ball in the cylinder and it NOT be offensive goal tending? Since a few minutes ago in Iowa City.
TJD basically called it immediately with his reaction too. He knew it. Kind of a weird overturn

So Mulvey gets a minute of playing time, looks good in that minute and then Fran can't wait to get him replaced with Rebraca.....got it.
I thought Mulvey looked good too. At least, better than he has. He crashed the boards harder than in other appearances. If he can do that and contest shots as a seven footer it’s a success, imo

Perkins played well, so I was glad he got a lot of minutes, but was also kind of bummed that Dix got pulled after his travel where he got passed the ball in a terrible spot on the inbounds and ended up turning it over. That offensive rebound -> dish to Bowen was sick

Wow this team is really sideways. Perkins is a train wreck. Kris looks extremely passive if not intimidated. Defensively this may be one of Fran's worst teams to date and that is saying something. I wish I saw a second half comeback but I fully expect the second half to start like the first half with Indiana blitzing Iowa to get up 18 quickly and Fran getting to watch the last 15 minutes from the locker room after his second T.

Embarrassingly pathetic performance by this officiating crew. Paul Szelc and Courtney Green are an embarrassment to the B1G.(Paul Szelc is an ignorant scoundrel and I disapprove of his very existence)

yea... the officials is why I don't watch college basketball outside of the Hawkeyes.. it is embarrassingly bad.
but I do love the fight these Hawkeyes are showing... this Indiana is a tough team.... and we're right there in it... good job out of Fran to get these fired up and playing good basketball

As I think about it more, I’m sure that TJD would give Mulvey some problems with his athleticism, but is there any way that Mulvey’s length could bother him more than Rebraca has so far? Worth some fouls in the second half at least

It made no sense. Mulvey barely broke a sweat before getting yanked. Perkins has made so many bad decisions I lost count after 6 and he stays on the floor. Same with Sandfort--yes his ball security was awful but he kept Iowa from being down 25. I think we have a legit shot at last place in the conference based on bad offense and worse defense.

Kind of incredible that this is the Hawks’ best offensive game in some time and they’re still down 10. Getting worked at the other end

This team turns the ball over at a scary high clip which doesn’t bode well for a team as weak defensively as Iowa is

Rebraca reminds me of Garza the way he is the first man down the floor and battles for really good post position. Luka used to get so many buckets that way

LETS GO HAWKS

Not a Fran hater but I'm not pleased with his roster makeup by any stretch of the imagination. Iowa won tonight because they played inspired basketball with one of the Indiana's starters on the bench for over half the game, and as good as Indiana is, they are one of the most turnover prone team in the league. Great win though...We'll see how Iowa fairs on Sunday at Rutgers, and beyond.

Turned it off early. Saw last minute. Will look for a replay or highlights.

It was tempting to turn it off after that start. I never would have guessed Iowa would come back and win. I was hoping they could keep under 30, when it was 28-7.

Great win! What a comeback! (Third-biggest comeback in school history, I think.)

Even more impressive than erasing that 21-point deficit, I think, was coming back from being down 6 late in the game. We could have easily curled up at that point, but we fought back yet again. Impressive bit of toughness.

You could tell the guys were gassed but just kept playing. This team hasn’t started the year any of us hoped, but they battle every game and you have to respect it

Wasn’t Iowa also without one of its starters?
