Addie Deal commitment says otherwise. And, they’re still in contention for some high-level ‘26 prospects. Keep the faith.
I'll wait till the rest of the 2026 class plays out, but sure seems like most ALL big names don't wan to come in and fill CC's shoes......
Addie came in and her game is similar to Caitlins. Always felt Harpring would stay in the southeast. Official visit was because they were retiring CC's number and playing USC, plain and simple.
accept for Callie Levin, IIRC every player signed since Caitlin graduated is ranked a Top100 recruit. You call that “negative”?
There have been some notable misses - Maddyn Greenway, e.g. but Iowa just won a recruiting battle for Rodriguez and landed Lucy Olsen last year as well.

If Jan can get 1 or 2 for 2026, then that's great. I doubt very much if any team gets every player they want.
No point of aiming lower than 50ish.. leave room for transfers instead of under-recruiting. Getting Emely Rodriguez is a better get than something like the 58th ranked recruit.
Beautiful campus, good academically, solid basketball history and around 4 hours from home. Checked all the boxes. I wish her well.
Uh, Iowa can't sign everybody. When players choose other schools, wish them well and plan to beat them if the opportunity arises.

How do the academics compare with Iowa? Not trying to be smart, just don't know.
I believe Jensen will continue to pursue players outside the Top50 that meet the criteria she is looking for in a prospect, as she should. JMHO but, except for the top 2-3 players at each position, the rankings provided by the commercial recruiting sites aren’t all that accurate.
UNC is significantly ahead as a whole. They are ranked #5 in public universities compared to Iowa at #49.
I'd have to agree that the thought of being compared to Caitlin might discourage some players who want to be the next Caitlin, from coming to Iowa. OTOH, you have to acknowledge that enthusiasm for the program is as high as you'll find anywhere, and the fans are following their former players in the WNBA.

Addie wanted to come to Iowa early, and reached out to the coaches first. This isn’t the same situation.

Iowa got four top 100 players in the 2024 class and Lucy Olsen. The 2025 class is ranked #13 by ESPN and they got two solid transfers with Wright and Rodriquez. How can anyone say that is a negative?
Im sure it will lead to a national championship compared to the recruiting of UConn and South Carolina.........
