So, I moved to austin in 1990. Their goal here is for UT to win the national champ game every single year. That is the deal. Now, this yr they got a better shot at it since they beat OSU tonight. But usually they really have no shot. Especially since they joined the SEC. But they persist. That is the goal. Yes they have a few natty games, like I think maybe 1970, maybe like 2006 0r 2007. A few tries when they lost to Alabama, recently. Lost to Washington huskies in the playoffs a few yrs ago.But I always wondered what it would be like to have that goal every year for Iowa? It is a strange thought.

That goal and $40 mill to spend on players

This would make sense, all things being equal.

All things weren't equal in this game.

Our roster is more talented than theirs. Our coaches are more experienced than theirs. It was on our home field. It was a night game at Kinnick. This is their coaches' 1st season at ISU. This is their players' 1st season at ISU.

ISU outcoached us. Their players were more physical. Honestly their players seemed to care more.

Iowa was ranked #21 in the country going into their game. Their team was picked to finish last in the Big 12.

You can try convincing yourself otherwise all you want but this was not a good W for us.

The score wasn't even indicative of how badly they were beaten. OSU had over 500 yards of offense, twice what Oregon had. OSU was dominated by Tulsa the week before.

Yeah I saw the Oregon yardage I thought maybe people got hurt or something. Crazy low number for them.
