Wouldn’t we have to be competitive to Wisconsin before we could be considered a rival? Being their whipping boy year in and year out doesn’t breed much emotion on either side. Maybe we’re better suited for a rivalry with Rutgers? Like “hey, who’s not the worst red jersey’d team in the big 10 this year?” trophy. Or something along those lines, I suppose the title of the trophy could be abbreviated.

We already won that trophy this year, it is sitting next to Riley's Grey Cups.

Iowa is a much more natural rival with Wisky than with Nebraska, actually our overall record against Wisky is about dead even. These rivalries don’t begin or end with Football they are shared among the overall sports programs. Nebraska needs to get competitive in basketball ASAP.

I think whisky or Iowa would make a good rival.

Folks don’t want to be rivals with Iowa because it’s beneath us but the whole little brother thing is the basis of a good many rivalries around the country. Dare I say the fact that Iowa might be the most hated fans for us in the B1G might make them our most natural rival.

We will probably have more games that matter with Wisconsin but only the relative few who travel to Madison every couple years will probably hate their fan base. The whole rest of husker nation will kind of have to manufacture a little more hate for Wisconsin fans and their hospitality simply because they are further away.

You can’t swing a dead cat in omaha without hitting a Hawk fan.

Two weeks ago, a win against Nebraska sounded like a formality for a young, improving Iowa team that had just jumped to 20th in the College Football Playoff rankings.
