Predicted before PSU that we lose a close one here, lose to MSU as well, then win out. But this is truly a tough one, could easily go either way.

Us 27
Them 28

Hope I'm wrong, since I think we get to 8 wins, or even 9 if we win here.

Close game, but since Iowa has had two weeks to get healthy and prepare, have to go with my Hawks. 31-24

On paper Iowa seems to be a slightly better and more consistent team than NU, so my brain says Iowa wins 24-21. But my hope is that NU gets things going in October like it did last year, and so I will go with my hope and heart:
Cats win 23-20.

Which team needed what the most last week? NU's win over a bad Terp team much more beneficial to the Cats than Io-a's week off coming into this week.

Cats honor our returning players from Ara's 1962 squad and celebrate a solid 27-16 win.

Offensive line continues to improve, playing best game of the year. Defense continues good play.

NU - 30
Iowa - 21

I know I've got my Purple glasses on but I think the OL is pulling it together and the D in general is getting better each week. We are at home and feel good to have won on the road.

I think the D has a huge game this week.

I think Wadley tweaks a hammy, and Shonn Green wanders out of the east stands, suits up at halftime, and runs for 3 TDs in the second half.

But CT leads a late comeback and the Cats pull it out 34-31.

This game is a season-definer. I hope Cats prevail. But don't feel too confident about it. Both coaches are good at their trades. Both teams have quality kids playing for them. Sorry, but:
Iowa 30
NU 21.

Stanley throws two picks to double his season total. Wadley has a little success on the ground, but Cats still hold him around 100 yards. The bend don't break defense for Iowa breaks a little more this week than past weeks. Honestly, I think the Cats are a better team than that 3-3 record indicates and I think this is a relatively mediocre Iowa team (even though I think Jewell is a hell of a player). I have not been that impressed by Iowa, and even though they lost that PSU game on that last play (by the way, I picked Iowa to win that game in my college confidence pool), PSU really was able to move the ball at will and was the better team that night. Iowa did a great job of hanging tough and put themselves in a golden position to win, but that doesn't change that I think PSU was the better team. Either way, unless Iowa shows improvement on the offensive line and in the secondary off of the bye week, I like the Cats in this one. The Cats aren't a great team, but I see a team that's gotten as healthy as it can be at this point, minus the "out for the year" guys, and is starting to play to their capabilities. Just need that o-line to continue to improve.

Johnny,
I agree that the Cats are better than their 3-3 record indicates and I think a bend but don't break Defense is just what the doctor ordered for our offense.

This game really is the Tale of Two Turds.

Both playing with no fire on offense and capable of so much more.
