Colorado is in last place... I would have thought they would be much higher with the legalization of marijuana.

Interesting.
Ha. No. I lived out there for a couple years. Everyone is very active. Hiking, biking, skiing you name it. Even if you have the munchies they still burn it off being outdoors all the time. Smokin

And that's AFTER my wife and I moved here from Colorado, so I'm assuming we'd be No. 3 if not for my family. You're welcome, Iowa!

Definitely noticed it in Hawaii that people are much thinner. That was striking to me after a few days I was like, "You know, I haven't seen a single really fat person the whole time we've been here." Unless you count the lady who flew in with us and needed a seatbelt extender. I got clocked in the shoulder all flight by people walking around the part of her that was hanging into the aisle opposite me.

I notice it even being downtown in Chicago, it's like the further into the heart of the city you go the thinner people get. Just living in an urban center like that where you have to do more walking can make more of a difference than you think. When you walk to the store and carry your groceries all the way home not only do you get the exercise, but you think a lot more about how much **** you buy because you have to haul it back.

Just that little change will shift you from buying a trunkload of groceries to buying enough for a few meals and not keeping a bunch of junk in the house. All because it's expensive and inconvenient to park a car down there.

Out here in the burbs it's just like Omaha, sprawl and gigantic parking lots. Park your fat *** 30 feet from the door and waddle on in. There's no "ambient exercise," you drive door to door everywhere. You only exercise if you schedule it on purpose.

My favorite is people who will camp out waiting for somebody to pull out of a close parking space in a massive lot with nothing but empty spots at the back. Followed closely by people in my office who will take the elevator down to go home. We work on the second floor.

That RMHIDTA report is so full of **** is squeaks. No other studies have replicated its findings. The study group was formed by the White House in 1996 with the sole purpose of justifying continued criminalization of drugs, including marijuana. That is its mandate and so of course it would find all sorts of non-existent horrors with legalization of marijuana. I just moved from Colorado and it considered a joke there. No one pays the slightest bit of attention to it as it's very existence is a bias. If it didn't find all sorts of imaginary horrors with legalization of marijuana a number of criminal justice people and academics would be out of a cushy job. Oh, and it was originally formed at the insistence of the booze industry and they "suggested" most of the original people in the group. Whether all of them are still there I don't know.

Des Moines > Omaha and it’s not even close!

That's right it's not close. Des Moines is a dump with absolutely nothing to do, and Omaha has a very vibrant music and arts scene. I had to stay in that POS town (Des Moines) on a monthly basis, and was bored to tears every time I went there.

I think Nebraska will be one of the last myself. I had to give it up because believe it or not, it made my panic attacks WORSE and even caused them. Dont care if you believe it or not, it is what it is.
