Not saying whether NU should go after these guys, just names from the past, former big name prospects, etc.

QB-
Joey Gatewood

RB-
Mychale Salahuddin

LD Jefferson

Connor Heyward

WR-
Brian Hightower

Evidence Njoku

OL-
Chris Bleich

DL-
Robert Porcher IV

So many guys in the portal. Not sure who Nebraska will be looking at, but could be some potential quick fixes at spots with little depth.

I think NU was in Porcher's final schools prior to committing. We also recruited Njoku if he's the Njoku I'm thinking of.

Well it works both ways. I'm sure there will be some Nebraska players leaving as well.
I expect several guys to move on pretty much every year. I think Scott gets the number crunch and the need to sign big classes.

Firm “No” on Bleich- he’s been through too many schools already and gave up pretty early down in Florida.

But I’m definitely not opposed to feeling out the portal

QB-
Joey Gatewood - who cares. We are good at that unit.

RB-
Mychale Salahuddin - had knee surgery. Got beat out by another freshman. Stuck in the back of the depth chart. Pass.

LD Jefferson - 1.3 yards a carry on 19 carries for the season. SMH. Pass.

Connor Heyward - 3 seasons, 2 with a 3.3 yard a carry average. No thanks. We have a walkon that averages 3.3 yards a carry. Would be a wasteful scholarship.

WR-
Brian Hightower - 12 career receptions. Another California kid. Not interested.

Evidence Njoku - 1 career reception. Pass.

OL-
Chris Bleich - major pass. Gave up after losing snaps to a freshman.

DL-
Robert Porcher IV - averages 1 tackle per game played. How would that be an improvement over what we have?

Glad Uber thinks the team is perfect as is.

"Another Cali kid. Not interested." We clearly want this guy if Uber doesn't. Uber said we didn't want JD either lololol

I don't think Porcher is a fit for the 3-4. I'm guessing he's 6'2" 280 now.

Chris Bleich was a guy who looked good to programs from far away places but the local schools backed off him. That's never a good sign. He committed to about 3 or 4 schools and now he's transferring, so...

They may consider Njoku because of his pedigree and size. But he may be too much of a project.

Hightower interests me. A big receiver at 6'3" with a decent pedigree. I think he would play for us.

I like short nose guards. He can gain 20 lbs.

Hightower was a big time recruit out of HS and is the big physical type receiver we have been missing. He worth a shot, imo.

Didn't Kanowai Noa, Darrion Daniels and Jakheem Green enroll mid-spring or early summer? Don't forget we'll have TE Travis Vokolek next season too.

Neverthless, even if we miss on some guys in the winter/signing period season, there will be grad transfer options after the 2020 class signs.

Also, here's another reminder that we have a very young team:

2019 -- 78 Freshmen (Unsure of total redshirt freshmen due to 4-game rule, but 32 for certain)
2018 -- 28 Sophomores
2017-- 23 Juniors
2015/16 -- 24 Seniors

Why would you bring in another NG? We

This is what I do when looking at names in the portal:

1: Did they even make it onto the field.

2: If they made it onto the field have they produced?

3: What is the real reason why they are leaving? Majority of the time it's because they are buried deep in the depth chart so they are looking for an easier path.

The WR out of California is the only one of those names from the OP that has done anything. And I highly doubt he would even entertain a conversation with our staff.

Why is that? He visited here out of HS, we have opportunity and an offense that should appeal to WR recruits.

We don't want Porcher as he committed to us saying how much he loved us and then decommitted as his he and his father treated his commitment as a joke and took to social media both him and his dad kinda making fun of of Nebraska basically saying his commit to us was kind of a joke. R.P. IV was a good one coming out of HS

I was curious who you thought were behind the Daniel's brothers and how many plays a nose guard plays without substitution. I'm sure you know best.Laughing

Isn't Njoku the Receiver that we were recruiting and thought we had? I also remember us recruiting Hightower as well
