After we took a 2-0 lead on Cliff’s make.
The next score of the game was a clean look 3 by Murray to make the score 3-2 Iowa.
One second later I’ve never seen or heard Pike so mad, he let out an obscenity laced scream about WTF did we practice, that SOB has to have someone in his face.
He never had another look like that all night.
I think the first 5 rows behind the bench heard it clearly

My takeaways:
1) the team practices defense (allegedly that wasn't always the case with previous coaches,)
2) team can clearly hear the coach ,& hasn't tuned him out
3) team is able to respond & adjust.
4) first 5 rows need masks and earmuffs for home games

First time it’s ever happened with such ferocity.
I’m my presence anyway.
Even Mrs. Pike was surprised 😊

Up until last night I thought Pike was as clean as Opie Taylor and didn’t swear, smoke, drink, or fool around. Then just after the alma mater I heard him tell one of the assistants “god dammit, I left my cigarettes at the bar with that hooker!” 😉.

Anyway I’m glad to see some fire from him the team responded!

If there’s one thing I know, it’s that all basketball coaches are psychotic, it’s just to different degrees

The emotional stress and anxiety is out of this world.
I think it would require real awareness and management or you’d go nuts

Wait a minute, Pike curses?
Hope none of the player's egos were damaged by this and need to see a psychologist.
That wasn't Zaps point as I read it. It was a different demeanor then we've seen before. And i for one welcome it.
I actually saw it it too with some early exchanges with the refs.
Maybe because he knew Fran was on the other bench. IDC. Loved it.
Pointing it out didn't mean it was a criticism ya know.

Problem was we also gave Bohannon open looks from 3 thank god he only knocked down 2 of them; the 2 were so wide open

Good stuff. The guy knows his Defense and I’m sure the players fully agreed with him in that moment.

God forbid he throw a basketball at someone during practice and we'll be looking for a replacement.

Pike's cursing is a non-issue.

Now if he took off his sports jacket and threw it down the bench? Red Flag!

I really do miss HC Rice and the crowd just waiting for "the rice to boil" and his jacket to come off.
It was our own thing. That no other coach/school had.

Tom Young and his towel was iconic in a much better way
