A presser on Monday to announce

[615dawg]

Hail Coach Petersenku

[coursesuper]

hopefulku

[Coach34]

and that means either that coach is waiting on the BCS bowls to be announced, or he has a game on Saturday...So its either PetersEn, Graham, or Wilson

[topdawg.sixpack]

Those are the four who are left, from what I understand.

[Bulldog from Birth]

I'd say it's a good bit we've got our guy already.

BFB

[Frances Drebin]

...names he's heard this morning are Tuberville, Bowden, and Petersen.

[BigMotherTucker]

then we are in a no loose situation.

That being said... If it were Tubberville or Bowden, why would we wait to announce? I think we can scratch them from the list.

[Xartox]

1. Petersen/Tubs
2. ...
3. ...

Bowden isn't even 3rd.

[The Big Slick]

Has he checked out Bowden's religion?

[BigMotherTucker]

nuff said.

[Coach34]

Jean is 17'ing moron

[dawgfan77]

I have heard the SEC office asked us not to announce until after this weekends championship game. I understand the move, and I like the Monday announcement if true

[BillBraskyDOG]

Jeff Bowden. Also nuff said.

Dabo took the team Tommy was floundering with and turned them around. Dabo was a WR coach who was working with 3 less coaches than Bowden had. And somehow he was preparing the team better than Bowden was.

[Vandelaydawg]

Jean is a 17'ing moron...but so are you if you think Tubby hasn't been considered. He may not be the choice, but i can promise you he's been considered.

[KennyB]

why would the SEC care when we announce our new head football coach?

[saltybulldog]

I know the official game pairings dont come out until Sunday, but arent the bowls really just waiting on SEC/Big 12 teams?

[bonedaddy401]

if he comes. Between your three assumed candidates I say: Graham - 60%
Petersen - 35%
Wilson - 5%

There is a fairly good chance it isn't one of these three in my opinion.

[DowntownDawg]

If he doesn't come, it's probably due to lack of interest on his end, not ours.

[dawgfan77]

why would the SEC care when we announce our new head football coach?

The SEC doesn't want any press from any other school in the SEC this weekend. Its all about promoting the SEC today-Sat. Besides all SEC athlectic officals will be in ATL as well as most of the SEC press.

[MSUCostanza]

but you have bad info from somewhere. He most definitely has been considered.

[Coach34]

wants in our next coach- young, energetic, offensive-minded...I can assure you he wasnt even considered, and this is not me just giving you an opinion

[McMeat]

a slow death until BDJ came into the picture. Couple that with Croom and LT being gonzo, the plug has been pulled and he's got nothing. The **** he is throwing out there that I read on here is unbelievable.

I have no idea why some of you go over there and read that ****. Hopefully, you do just for entertainment and not information.

[DowntownDawg]

...for that very reason.

[MSUCostanza]

before Tuberville was out of a job. It would've been foolish not to consider a guy that went 13-0 just 4 years ago. He was considered, and I believe still is.

Tubby. Whittingham. Petersen and a candidate to be named later. Those are the 4.

[KennyB]

If we hire Petersen, I think the publicity for the SEC and the school would be great. Especially with the commentators talking about the hire during the game.

[Coach34]

and I dont think Tubby would be a bad choice...Hell, i'd love to see him jump out of a pine coffin on the sideline for the Egg Bowl...but I was told he wasnt even considered because of what Byrne is looking for in our next coach...I may be wrong, I may be right...we'll know more in a couple days

[bulliegolfer]

To the ones that belong, are you happy with the site and info there?

[MSUCostanza]

Never know about these things. I'm ready for it to be over, and I have faith that Byrne will make an excellent choice.

[BigMotherTucker]

but the message board is a bit slow for my taste.

[Sweatshirtsandjorts]

it is a fact that Wilson is not in the running.

[DowntownDawg]

...when asked "Will you look for somebody that has done well offensively? Is that going to be a high priority for you? "

"We're going to look for a good football coach."

People are taking something that Byrne allegedly told Russell and treating it like we are going to exclude anybody who is defensive minded or doesn't run the spread. Hell, we have already interviewed Bud Foster. He's not going to exclude anybody, and he'll hire the best coach available.

[SanfordRJones]

That's the first I've heard of that interview. How did you hear that? I think he'd a be a great head coach.

[saildawg]

SEC office can kiss our maroon backsides as far as I'm concerned.
