You see all kinds of documentaries about there isn't going to be enough food to feed the population. We need to start eating more plants and come up with different product ect....
I am just going to throw out a couple of numbers based upon the worlds population
roughly 7.8 billion people
***please keep in mind this is not including vegetables, fruits, breads, and other meats like fish, deer, elk, bison ect..."
I am just going to use cows, pigs and chickens for my point here, because I consider them to be the most sought after meat.
roughly 800,000 cows get slaughtered every day. With and average of 430lbs of meat per cow, that is 344 million pounds a day produced.
That is one animal, and it produces roughly 125 billion pounds of food a year.
137 million chickens are killed every day worldwide. At 5lbs per bird that come to 250 billion pounds of meat per year.
4 million pigs are killed every day worldwide. At 144lbs per pig that comes to 210 billion pounds of meat per year.
That is roughly 585 billion pounds of meat produced by the 3 main american meats (Not including the other animals)
From businessinsider.com article circa 2015 the average meat eaten per year worldwide is 75lbs
"People around the world consume an average of 75 pounds of meat per person, per year, according to research by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development."
With a population of 7.8 billion people in this world at 75lbs per year you are looking at exactly 585 billion pounds of meat eaten per year. As we all know those three animals are not the only animals eaten around the world. Animals also reproduce just like humans, so to say we are running out do to overpopulation is laughable.
Then take into account we could fit the entire human population into New York I am not worried about running out of land either. These numbers are all that, just numbers. I can't guarantee google is 100% accurate, but I do believe this does paint a picture.
Here is a couple other numbers
Pounds eaten per year
Bread = 53
Fish = 15.5
Fruits = 273
Vegetables = 415
Eggs (Total not lbs) = 279
While I agree the media takes things out of proportion (at times). I also believe that it's easy to see what is propaganda, and what is real.
The Coronavirus is a dangerous virus, and I am fully aware it gets coverage overload by the media. I am also getting tired of hearing people down play it like it is a joke and people are just using it as a way to get an advantage... or using it for tax breaks ect...
Yeah I am sure there are people that are doing that, but there are always going to be bad eggs. I have said this from the start, and I am going to say it again. YOU DO NOT shut down Trillions of dollars in revenue if it is "just another flu". If you continue to play it off like it is "just another flu", I really hope you educate yourself and stop blaming the media. They are not the only ones sending mixed messages. Our President is saying "We need to get America back open" one day, and then the next tells Georgia they are going to fast. That is the biggest problem, and why can't certain people see that?
So to sum up this novel, and get to the point of it. Only we can make up our own minds. Yes, the media gives mixed messages like we are running out of meat, but how can you not see the mixed messages our President spouts out? People need to stop being hypocrites, it's disgusting!
