aTm took down Florida, 19 - 17. The torches and pitchforks are being gathered in Gainesville; Jim McElwain might want to raise the drawbridge and start melting lead.

College football is funny. I visited a friend in Gainesville two years ago in mcelwains first year, they had a good year and the game we went to was when they blew out then undefeated Ole Miss. Some drunk guy in a bar was going on and on about how great he was, how the controversy about him verbally abusing players was nonsense or something. Their qb gets suspended for roids, transfers, and here we are two years later with him on the hot seat.

...again, what are you doing here then if we’re so terrible and horrible compared to heavenly State College where nothing bad or controversial ever happens? Know how many times I posted on BWI? None because I don’t care enough to.

That's not the issue. This is a Rutgers site first and foremost and posters should be respectful. Never will you see me attacking another poster with disparaging remarks. The other day I gave Madhat a firm verbal reprimand regarding the pending NCAA violations regarding UNC and whether or not elite BB athletes and FB athletes attend classes or not. Even though I was 100% correct I still feel bad because I actually like Madhat.

But let's be honest the constant and phony barrage against anyone who makes a positive post regarding PSU and Joe Paterno is over the top and frankly phony. If and when we get beyond the hypocrisy posters will admit that it's more jealousy than anything else. I love our Scarlet Knights and wish them the best but I also love the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Let me say one final thing on this subject. I've been to Penn State games with my daughter wearing a Rutgers sweatshirt and "NOT ONCE" did I hear a derogatory remark, put down or insult. Actually some of the nicest down to earth people who were quick to say "we wish you guys the best".

Back to thread and what's important.

I personally think the biggest upsets this week was Clemson falling to a much improved Syracuse team. The second biggest upset was Arizona State dropping the Washington Huskies. Not sure if this is an upset but the way LSU came back against Auburn proved that Ed Orgeron has them playing and believing. Maybe more importantly the guy is proving he's worth 3.5 million annually.

Yet the talking Heads at ESPiN keep saying the SEC will get two teams in. I guess they forgot to look at the B1G East and Wisconsin. I personally don't think any conference will get more than one team in, but the SEC is weak compared to the B1G.
The SEC has a new name: Saban's Vacation Playground.

I guess much depends on Georgia
going undefeated which would mean a "W" against Alabama.

I'm also impressed with the way LSU is playing. Not at Alabama's level right now but their head coach Ed Orgeron is getting them to believe they belong. Should be an interesting season.

The upset of the week!
1. Syracuse beating Clemson
2. Arizona State beating Washington
3. LSU's comeback to beat Aurburn

Next week:
1. If Cuse beats Miami they might get ranked
2. Utah's two losses were heartbreakers. They should destroy ASU
3. LSU is going to roll past Mississippi

Trap, you are so full of it. When did you start pretending that you are a nice guy who never makes disparaging remarks? In the past, when you get called out as a phony RU fan, you have thrown around the most vile remarks. I know because some were directed at me, but several other posters as well.
If you are serious about behaving better, that's great, but you have made it clear in the past that you are primarily a penstate fan who worships joepa and even made up excuses for the psu frat boys who let the kid from NJ die. Your anti-gay comments are disgusting as well. Have a nice day

I just think everyone needs to lighten up a little bit and remember that kids, specifically athletes read what is written on this site. Someone is always going to annoy someone and exchanges will get heated, all I suggest is to keep it civil and above board. Yes, this is a Rutgers Board first and foremost and posts criticizing the team and coaching staff should be tempered down, but lets face it, we have been downright awful for two years now and some fans (including me) get frustrated and angry. The most disturbing issue for me and at least another 8 RU fans who post here is the repeated and vile attacks on anything Penn State. Posters being labeled Pedophile Supporter, Child Rapist and Pedd State apologist, the need to be hunted down and hurt and a host of other derogatory remarks that are over the top.

Now let's come together and pray for a victory over Purdue.

While there are a few posters that can't discuss PSU football without mentioning JS or Ped State,,,you just mentioning Joe P in this shows you are also part of that problem. If you mention Joe P, you are not talking about current PSU football and he will always be the association to JS. There is no defending him.
As for the atmosphere at PSU, it is easy to be nice when you are winning and dominating another school. If we were to surprise them and shock the football world by upsetting them this year, we are not getting patted on the back and told "good game" on the way out.

The thing with you is that many of us called you out as a PSU fan for a long time and you denied it. You have finally embraced it. But on the other hand, we also know that you are also a Rutgers fan and really do want Rutgers to do well. Unlike that other guy, myhat...

The SEC is ridiculously weak this year.

I like Sagarin because it takes into account every team in a conference not just the top 2 or 3. Breaks it down by divisions now. he has SEC W the best with BIG E 2nd. Interestingly SEC E is worst (of P5) with BIG W 2nd worst. Alabama is at 103+ - I have never seen a number that high. 6 points higher than OSU and 9 higher than PSU. 9 points between 1 and 3 is just a huge gap for Sagarin.

CONFERENCE CENTRAL MEAN SIMPLE AVERAGE TEAMS WIN50%

1 SEC-WEST (A) = 81.98 83.03 ( 1) 7 82.31 ( 1)
2 BIG TEN-EAST (A) = 81.02 80.85 ( 2) 7 80.95 ( 2)
3 ACC-ATLANTIC (A) = 79.36 79.49 ( 3) 7 79.46 ( 3)
4 PAC-12(NORTH) (A) = 79.22 78.46 ( 4) 6 79.11 ( 4)
5 BIG 12 (A) = 78.67 77.58 ( 6) 10 78.58 ( 5)
6 ACC-COASTAL (A) = 77.33 77.54 ( 7) 7 77.49 ( 6)
7 PAC-12(SOUTH) (A) = 76.98 77.61 ( 5) 6 77.47 ( 7)
8 BIG TEN-WEST (A) = 74.98 75.06 ( 8) 7 75.13 ( 8)
9 SEC-EAST (A) = 73.36 73.96 ( 9) 7 73.56 ( 9)

I can't believe the disparity in the B10 East and West, but the disparity in the SEC Eat and West is worse. Wow!
