Why are people posting random things they type into AI? Should we all start posting our google searches? People also don’t seem to understand AI is wrong a lot of the time. I’m getting concerned about our future kids and them growing up relying on AI.
Most of this board and message boards in general is of the age range that doesn’t full grasp what AI is or does.

What OP posted is just a summation of everything we all already know and have heard online there is nothing new. It’s just AI found all the articles posts etc and summed it up.

I'm of the age to understand what AI is and does and I don't care for the hallucinations that may pop in to what is otherwise a factual "response." People are starting to give more credence to AI than their own mind, and that's something that should concern us all.

We’ve had a few recent grads come in I was explaining the other day. We were talking about JFK I was explaining some graduate students I knew that didn’t know where he was killed or what year 9/11 was things like that. I know a college student right now that lets AI write papers and was recently caught doing it. The Gen Z stare is real too. They’ll just sometimes freeze up like they forgot how to gd communicate. I don’t know, looks like the gov finally got the generations they were looking for. 🤷‍♂️
this seem like an oldie that recently discovered AI. It’s probably right tho. I’m gonna count this one.

I’m gonna guess some is true I mean I’ve been typing some of that 900 words per minute. But AI is a tool but not like a screw driver. It doesn’t work every time. Just a heads up.
All it can do - when it's working as intended - is summarize what people are saying. It's basically "here's the most likely thing someone would answer if asked this question, based on all the things the model was trained on."

People believe it's factual. They don't understand that today's search AI bots are nothing more than fast aggregators of information from all sources on the internet, mostly social media, which means the result of a question like this (anecdotal "why are they unpopular", which relies on human opinions) is heavily influenced by garbage chatter.

I mean, to be fair, I was "educated" on the back rows of the school bus.

2040 is a LONG ways away. We may not know how much is jmi/Pope until our next HC. It seems pretty obvious that even Pope should've landed one of his top targets.... leaning to the idea that JMI has contributed to our losing targets. Is there any hope of amending or changing the contract before its true end 15 yrs from now?

Whew, good thing we’re only stuck in this program-killing deal till 2040.

What a bargain for us.

Something has to change. JMI as a company likely - surely wants to get involved in more major flagship big2 conference deals. I couldn’t imagine they enjoy seeing their name being slaughtered by a flagship blue blood online and in media like this. If congress doesn’t act or if nothing else changes, I’d have to think Kentucky will have to get them to restructure it. I mean it’s bad for both long term.

I don’t know if it’s true, but I’ve heard Kentucky received an extra 70-100 million than everyone else in conference for allowing this kind of deal. Playfly or Learfield gave say 300 million without the provisions and JMI gave 400 or so for adding them in. Don’t know if that’s accurate or not.

But that would be peak Barnhart selling out our elite standing for extra cash for the university if true. He doesn’t want elite anyway, he thinks it creates too many issues. He’s been lowering our since he got here. Guy is the epitome of corrupt hatchet man swamp creature. And our president would definitely do it, he doesn’t even know people play basketball. Guy has one foot in the nursing home.

I think Barnhart was out for a reason this isn’t a real retirement. I think they know they’re in deep ****, all of them. Now the media is investigating the deal for Barnhart. The swim team thing keeps popping up. JMI, they’ve got a lot of smoke here so they hire Rachel Baker or Mark Hill and this thing might explode.

AI search engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity) are frequently wrong, with studies indicating they provide incorrect information, hallucinations, or failed citations in over 60% of cases. These systems often present false, speculative, or improperly cited information with high confidence.

Key Findings on AI Search Accuracy:
  • High Error Rates: A study of eight AI tools found they failed to retrieve correct articles more than 50% of the time.
  • Specific Errors: Grok 3 had a 94% error rate in one study, while ChatGPT Search was wrong 67% of the time.
  • "Confidently Wrong": AI rarely uses qualifiers to indicate uncertainty and frequently invents sources or misinterprets, rather than admitting it doesn't know.
  • Premium Failures: Paid, premium versions (e.g., Perplexity Pro, Grok 3) sometimes perform worse, providing wrong answers more frequently than free versions.
  • Types of Errors: Common mistakes include misinterpreting queries, using sarcastic content from forums as fact, and struggling with up-to-date, specialized information.
    Mashable +5
Best Practices:
  • Cross-check Everything: Treat AI answers as starting points, not final facts.
  • Use for Brainstorming: Use AI for ideas rather than critical, fact-based research.
  • Watch for Over-fluency: Fluent, well-written answers are more likely to be confidently incorrect.

Are you boomer? if I had to guess I would have said 45? Close?
Nope, no boomer. Gen X'er. I'm 50...BUT...I always feel a generation older. Was raised by my grandparents (mom died super young, dad was a breakman on the RR) in rural southern IL and southeast MO.

If JMI does require players to sign over their NIL rights to them, that would explain why no one wants to come here
