UCONN alum just donated $15+ million for sports programs. They are building sports facilities at a fast rate on campus: Beautiful new baseball, softball, soccer, field hockey and ice hockey facilities. Golf is next.
Spending $100 on Gampel Pavillion improvements.
The Downtown Hartford arena (People's Bank Arena) just had $40 million in improvements.
They are building and funding for future Power 4 invite. These investments are not to stay in Big East. They already have best facilities in Big East. Its investing in future. They WILL LEAVE BIG EAST. Might be in 5-8 years but it will happen. Current situation is not long term sustainable.
They're just making the tough decisions on stuff that is non essential to overall goals so they can continue history of on field success.
I think this is what most big time school are doing.
UCONN is far better of than Rutgets which generates huge revenue but is still tens of millions in the red and has no history of on field success or big time reputation anywhere even close to UCONN.

Where do you think UConn is going? I've learned never to say "never," but the spots are closed. No one else is really moving conference-to-conference anymore unless some big football brand like Florida State figures out how to get out of its ACC grant of rights, which is unlikely. But just about every football program that holds any brand value is already where they want to be, save for a very small handful, of which UConn is not one. The Big Ten and SEC are already carrying a lot of dead weight they are looking to eventually shed, and the Big XII and ACC are middling conferences that are a clear plunge down from the Power 2. They don't need to dilute themselves (and their per-team payouts) any more by adding a terrible football program.

I dont understand why my two prior posts were striked here.

President routinely insults oppo party in social posts. I made a point to say this bill he gave thanks to ranking member of committee and Coons vs calling them silly names like usual.

Senator from Missouri who played non Division I college football gives time to FOS reporter who has been all over the story because it platforms a belief and a want to he has. Yet his era of GOP elected officials including him are the same type that hurls nonsense when media puts out insight that it not agreeable to or favorable to them.

It is a game of theatre.

Agreed. Big12 is a very real possibility.
Big12 commissioner really wants UCONN.
Continued success by UCONN and football progress will have an impact.

UCONN is not terrible football. Thos isn't 10 years ago.
UCONN had beaten Duke, BC, Notth Carolina in recent years. They just had a 1st Team All American WR this year.
By no means is UCONN a best program but calling them terrible is far from accurate.
There wil be movement within next 5+ years and UCONN will go to a P4 Conference where they will get paid much more money than low BE Ztv revenue. BE TV money will consequently go down with National Blueblood Power of UCONN which brings national eyeballs.
Its a double whammy situation non of which is good for us and BE.
