It's going to be a much more frequent occurrence in the new Big10.
Oregon is 9th in the country in rushing offense. Iowa is 39th.
I wish it was an 11:00 o’clock kickoff.
Oregon is around 27th in rush defense. Iowa much much higher than that.

They sure struggled against Indiana which does not shock me but they also struggled agains a bad Wisconsin team. If the weather makes both teams more one dimensional I still like our chances to keep it close and within range. Our defense against the run is pretty good. We just can't afford to fall victim to t he weather with turnovers. Really need a clean game.
Indiana held both Iowa and Oregon under 100 yards rushing. They're a well-rounded team.
We've got a shot. As you said, can't afford any turnovers. Need to create some.
Interesting how many here seem to think Oregon passes all over the place. Their offense is about as balanced as you can get.

Yeah well ya know what, their run game should try to not be better than ours.
Iowa's OL is the best they are going to have gone against overall.
Oregon is also tied with Navy for the highest yards per run attempt in the country at 6.3. Iowa is tied for 33rd at 4.7.
Different run games, though. Theirs is built on speed and chunk plays. Ours is more of a power running game. Advantage Iowa in that regard.
Could be. Oregon's O line is pretty damn good too. It's gonna be a battle.

Not sure how you come to that conclusion. As @Jonesy5960 pointed out, Oregon has the highest yds/carry in college football.
Indiana's oline is pretty damn good too. They're 10th in the country at 5.5 ypc. They only averaged 3.0 vs Oregon.
It's funny how perception and timing works.
Iowa State is a ranked loss, and then it's a bad loss to a 5-4 team.
Indiana was 11th when we lost to them, and now it's the closest anyone has been to the #2 team in the country...............
You don't really know "strength of schedule" until you're 8-10 weeks in. That's where the playoff rankings get it right.
Everyone has their KFz pet peeve. My big one is all the losses to ISU that should not have happened.

Can't be by much. Have played 4 teams in common and same record with those teams. And there other games weren't a murderers row. Maybe Northwestern being the best of the rest they have played.
Lanning would have gone nuts. Guy has been spouting off about the cushy Hawks schedule and the B10 all week.

If you're implying they kept pouring it on late in games to pad the stats you're wrong. In their 3 biggest blowouts (Rutgers, Okie State and Montana St) they scored 0, 0, and 7 points in the 4th quarter. The 7 was by the backups against FCS Montana State.

Punchless Penn State didn't have much trouble running the ball and with little pass threat from that scrub qb. Quack backs are fast and so are the receivers. Qb is middling though but it only takes a couple of big plays. Hawks O will be swallowed up by the underrated Quack D.
Doubtful, Iowa's putrid O will get a TD on an actual drive, even with favorable field position. But you never know and KF needs a big win vs an actual good team before he runs out of time. Hope the B10 refs and the Quacks feel charitable. Go KF !

Marginally- 44th vs 48th. In conference play (which I'd argue is what really matters) Oregon and Iowa are almost identical in offensive (32.2 Oregon vs 31.2 Iowa) and defensive (17 Oregon vs 15 Iowa) PPG.
Yes, which was part of my point. Jox implied that Oregon's stats were a byproduct of running the score up on lesser competition. Their competition has been as good as Iowa's.
I think both things can be true. Oregon's season PPG being 10 points higher than in conference play makes it seem like they might have been running it up against the hapless OOC opponents, which SOS would show to be a little harder than ours.
That's pretty common. All P4 teams put up bigger numbers in the non-con.
My response was to Jox who seemed to be trying to minimize Oregon's rushing stats as a byproduct of abusing weak teams. No more than Iowa's. (see Albany and UMass). The schedules are pretty similar. Iowa can run the ball. So can Oregon.
