Ran into Coach Moorehead in the Portland Airport last week. He is much more charasmatic than I expected. I am also very surprised about how despondent he is about losing the job.

Who have they struck out on? Haven’t kept up with their search. If Michigan State keeps striking out, he will be MSU head coach again.
Colorado's coach and Iowa State's Matt Campbell both turned them down as wellFickell and Narduzzi have both said they are staying put.

Wait, he was charismatic yet despondent about leaving Starkville?Ran into Coach Moorehead in the Portland Airport last week. He is much more charasmatic than I expected. I am also very surprised about how despondent he is about losing the job.

Maybe this is the MSU job Napier wants.Who have they struck out on? Haven’t kept up with their search.

I thought he was a generally likable guy and I hoped he would be successful. He got a little feisty after some losses when he was questioned about the program. But I genuinely wanted to see him do great things at MSU. He did have a few bad things to happen that weren't necessarily his fault. But I think there were also some decisions (or lack of decisions) that were on him and expedited his departure.Haha, yeah good point.
He was super friendly and engaging until I brought up State at which point he became despondent. He didn't mention any sand pounding or rock kicking but he did mention Murphys Law.
The bottom line is that he is much more likeable than I expected.
When he realized I was a State fan, he just kinda took about 5 seconds kinda shaking his head a little and looked down. I got the feeling from his body language that he was more emotionally invested in our school than I expected. Something above and beyond just the money.
Hell, I had been on the plane for about 7 hours (from Boston) and I was a little star struck when I saw him so my judgment may have been impaired.
He's a great guy. Very likable and personable every time I spoke with him. Outside of his head coaching ability, I've got nothing but positive things to say about Joe.The bottom line is that he is much more likeable than I expected.
