No thread needed either...but here it is.....

Good luck to them. They’re actually using WV as a template to statehood.

You have the chance to name a state, and you choose New California?

Why not throw up a middle finger to the tyrannical overloards, and call yourself Trump Dakota or something.

I lived in California..... New California has all the crowded ****** parts excepting maybe some of the Central Coast.... Good Riddance. FTR most of the military bases stay with Old California.

What a reversal from how it was since 1977 (when my folks moved there)!

It is similar to WV vs VA. All the population centers can push through laws that impact the less populated areas. They do get the economic impact from the population centers to improve public use items. If they don’t feel like they have a say in the laws created why not. MD vs Western MD is another example. Western Maryland has little say in the laws passed.

My family moved to Monterey County in the early 60s. Then, the county was extremely rural; even today, it is mainly rural. The only way this map of the large, urban includes Monterey County is because it's needed as a connector between north and south.

Good for the rural areas. I wouldn’t want to be associated with the numnuts in Hollywood and San Fran either.

I doubt they'd get San Diego and San Jose (all of Silicon Valley, really) to go along with them. And you'd be stuck with a bunch of poor, economically depressed areas that aren't getting the tax money they used to get from the richer counties subsidizing them.

Could be worse. There could be a new:
Mississippi
Alabama
Kentucky
Louisiana
...ok any former Confederate state.
That's where a lot of the new car manufacturing plants are going. Those states believe in freedom.
