Bob Huggins after TT debacle:

"I've never had this happen before," Head Coach Bob Huggins said after the game. "We've never gotten beat like this before. Ever. Even the team that won 14 (games). At least they played. At least they tried. At least you could go to the bench and put in a guy that tries harder than the guy you took out."

Starting forward Esa Ahmad, the lone senior on the team, went 0-of-4 from the floor and turned it over five times while scoring only three points.

"It's hard when your senior guys that you count on just don't come to play and do some things that my team hasn't done in, I can't think in how many years," said Huggins.

Neal Brown at today's PC:

"Don't complain about those People(players) in your room, you chose them."

This isn't surprising. Even the Huggins sycophants who come on here and pound their chests calling out the "Huggins-haters" after wins can't deny that he has an extremely high opinion of himself...even among P5 coaches. And it's certainly not helped by the worship he receives in this state.

The man is an arrogant prick who is absolutely stuck in his ways. His coaching style is antiquated and his treatment of players is medieval. What a **** move to call out a player for effort. Huggins recruited these players, he doesn't coach to their strengths (a little as there may be), and he and his staff have failed miserably at growing their talent. JC and Dax improved year to year but one could argue that the improvements were simply the result of maturation and experience and nothing due to the coaching.

Huggins is getting pissy in the media. This makes me wonder if the AD is pushing him out.

Brown is walking into a sixth ranked and a seventh ranked recruiting class in the Big XII at WV

Dana attempted to subsidize recruiting with transfers.
Something Neal Brown has to do as well.
Especially grad transfers.

But let's wait until Neal Brown coaches a game.

Everyone loves a coach until his first loss and usually by his second loss all the good vibes are gone.

Again. How many coaches in WVU history (any sport that doesn’t involve shooting stuff) have put together the resume Huggins has?

None.

There will be a massive house cleaning when this season is over. Hopefully a couple asst coaches will also hit the bricks.

Again, can we see what happens next season before we lose our collective ****?

Bodhi your spot on here. Huggins is a mess right now and I’ve always thought he’s the most overrated coach in sports. Good guards want nothing to do with him. JC barely made the league and Dax was never even close to being a NBA player and you would think those 2 were the greatest to ever play the game. Huggins should have done a better job replacing them. JC worked his *** off. He got better on his own. He and Sags carried Huggs to sweet 16 but that was the ceiling. Huggs has had 3 terrible teams he last 7 years. Get a younger better coach here. Huggs is washed up and can’t recruit guards. Good guards want nothing to do with him. McBride is a project. Huggs has issues.
Lyons is going to have to step in soon.

I think calling out a player over effort is OK. Effort is something they can control. Its not like he called someone weak or slow.

Now that being said, his poor-me routine is annoying.

Funny, but lets be honest you are the biggest baby on this board. The next time you go a whole day without a tantrum it will be your first.

Just because you and Bodhi quit your middle school teams because the coach "picked" on you for your lack of effort doesn't mean you were right.....you just sucked.....it's ok.

This is not a direct shot at Huggins by a long shot. This is a made up conflict by you.

Do you understand what reasoning Brown is using this quote in? I believe you are taking this out of context considering you didn't post the entire comment. Or you just hate Bob Huggins and want to stir the pot.

He was drafted 32nd. He got almost 30 minutes of run the other night when Conley was out. And the Grizz are looking to move Conley.

I'm waiting for you to call out Nate for completely throwing Esa under the bus on today's pod. Or are the amateur 21 year olds the only ones allowed to be criticized?

And I love the cognitive dissonance today. Players x, y, and z need to get the hell out if we want a chance to compete in the league next year. Upperclassmen are ruining the production. Texter asks if "Huggs will fix it?" Answer...of course, he's a HOF coach. Need proof? Nate cites that he "fixed it" with Harris and Henderson saga years ago. But that wasn't the beginning. The year before Huggins went 19-14, then the shitshow of 13-19, followed by 17-16. Then, through the grace of luck and the basketball gods, Huggins stumbles upon Jevon Carter alone in the gym one morning while everyone else was literally sleeping on him and an all-time great Mountaineer falls in his lap. Carter and Miles graduate and the program takes a COMPLETE 180.

Solid programs don't go from "pretty damn good" to absolutely awful/maybe worst team in the P5 in one year without some serious rot at the core. And there's something rotten in the state of West Virginia.

Huggins had nice success with Beilein's recruits. He may have gotten more from them than Beilein would have, but we'll never know. After the remnants of those guys were gone, the program bottomed out for a generation of college athletes. JC, Dax, Paige, and Tarik brought us back. One could argue JC was the glue for three of those years and certainly for two. He goes and the program bottoms out again to epic proportions. Perhaps Weslely Harris and Lamont West aren't the crux of the problem.

The Crux of the problem is the experienced front court not showing up as team and leading the young pups. They instead leave them out in the cold without to freeze the shot out of them.

I'm Calling out...
Esa
Sags
West
Harris

The 4 experienced guys that have fallen flat on their faces.

I agree that they have been terrible and Esa will go down as my biggest disappointed in WVU athletics since I began to closely follow basketball and football.

The difference is Huggins has been immune to any criticism, especially in the Morgantown media. And when he's called out on here, his court jesters pounce on anyone who dares not grovel at his feet.

Bodhi is telling the **** how it is about Huggs. Huggs gets a pass and that pass needs taken away. Huggs needs his *** ripped hard and good by fans, media. He is responsible for this **** show. He recruits lazy and arrogant. He refuses to work for a recruit. Outside of JC he hadn’t hit on much for last 10 years at guard. That’s why he has 3 of last 7 years with no NCAA tournament and a terrible team. 3 of last 7 years and the other year 19-14. Basically 4 of last 7 years Huggs has sucked. That’s telling. Huggs is getting exposed. I’ve always said he’s the most overrated, overhyped coach in sports.

No PG = No chance at winning. When you have two freshman running point, it's not going to be pretty. Carter didn't run the show as a freshman, he had Staten. McCabe and Knapper do not have that luxury. You act as if Huggs should have WVU with 25+ wins each and every year. There's some really good programs out there that cannot do that either.

But, rationalizing with your type is beyond productive.......
