INT in the End Zone

[Skint Dawg]

Did anyone else notice that Cyrus Jones stepped out of bounds and was the first player to touch the ball on the INT in the end zone (it was really close). Is that rule only for offensive players? If not that should have been a penalty and state ball.

it counts all the way around. of course, it wasnt a penalty, because the finest referee crew in the country did not throw a flag. they wouls never opt not to call a penalty, right?

If someone on our staff in the booth or on the field saw that when it happened could we have asked for a review ?

That rule only applies to the offensive player. It wasn't a penalty. Look it up.

It's not a penalty

The rule is only for offensive players. See: http://wilson.engr.wisc.edu/rsfc/intro/answers.shtml

Question: In college football if a defensive player goes out of bounds can he come back onto the field of play and make a tackle ?
Answer: Yes.
NCAA: The only 2 restrictions about players going out of bounds and returning are:
1) A kicking team player may not voluntarily go out of bounds and return. 5yd penaty from previous spot.
2) An eligible offensive receiver may not voluntarily go out of bounds and return and be the first to touch a legal forward pass. Loss of down at the previous spot.
