A good friend of mine was in an auto accident last week. The other driver was totally at fault. My friend's car was totaled. Her insurance said they would pay for her car then they will collect from the other drivers insurer. But they also told her the other drivers insurance company would contact her Monday to discuss "compensation". Amazingly my friends only injury was a bruised arm likely from the side air bag. She rolled twice so very fortunate. So what is this compensation they want to discuss? And how should she approach it? She'd be happy to collect enough between the companies to buy a new car. Not looking to "make money" off of this. Any insight would be appreciated.

She should contact a lawyer and direct the insurance company to discuss with the lawyer.
