They shouldn’t have had to run from the one….Bad call should have been a TD but Michigan can't fumble from the 1.
Yes, but the previous play should have been a touchdown. Officials missed the call.Bad call should have been a TD but Michigan can't fumble from the 1.
You have to shake off a bad call and execute simple plays, if you want to be a championThey shouldn’t have had to run from the one….
The thread is about instant replay and that call. Not the play that followed it.You have to shake off a bad call and execute simple plays, if you want to be a champion
This thread is now about shaking off that bad call and scoring on 1st and goal from the 1/2 yard lineThe thread is about instant replay and that call. Not the play that followed it.
Not really. It's about the missed call. This thread is now about shaking off that bad call and scoring on 1st and goal from the 1/2 yard line
Agree. But if you’re forced to make more plays than necessary because of terrible officiating, it’s a problem. You aren’t wrong, however. You have to shake off a bad call and execute simple plays, if you want to be a champion
I saw the replay a few times during the game and couldn't understand how it wasn't a TD. After the game, I watched the replay a bunch of times and sort of understand why it wasn't. The receiver was falling as the ball came down, and his entire leg was clearly down when the ball hit his hands at the 1/2 yard line. The problem is he appeared to briefly bobble it as he rolled backward. He clearly caught the ball and was well into the endzone at that point. They must have believed he had full possession when it hit his hands (which it didn't appear to me). That would have been a TD in the NFL. I don't think there was enough on the replay to overturn the TD call. Maybe someone on here has better insight on college rules.Needs to be removed from the game...
edit: I am pulling for TCU. Mich was robbed
You showed exactly why replay needs to go. It took you how long to see what was called? Replay was supposed to "right" what was indisputably a wrong call...I saw the replay a few times during the game and couldn't understand how it wasn't a TD. Yes, this is it. If the play had been a sideline pass for a completion on his possession or not, it would have been incomplete! Possession was completed out of bounds! Possession on this play was completed in the end zone, so a touchdown! The bobble as in the pass has to be completed on the ground. Which is where he had complete control in the end zone! A bizzare situation, I admit for the officials, but it was first called a touchdown!!!I saw the replay a few times during the game and couldn't understand how it wasn't a TD. 100% agree. These 5 minute reviews are ignorant. If you cant tell in 30 seconds then move on with the play stands as called. You showed exactly why replay needs to go. It took you how long to see what was called? Replay was supposed to "right" what was indisputably a wrong call...
How it is used, however, is to micro manage a game. Every play and every touchdown does not need to be reviewed. If a review needs to go frame by frame to see if a call was correct then the play stands as called.
Do like the NHL, there is a booth and their only responsibility is to do replay reviews. They have 30 seconds to make the reversal, if they can not see enough evidence in that amount of time, the screen goes black and the call stands. Each coach has 2 challenges per half and if wrong a time out is charged. The game officials do not have to go to a small screen and watch the review. This is killing the game.
