Ya'll are still wrong...

First time I saw that 'other' spelling was about the time the Olympics were awarded to Atlanta and all the northeast advertisers were trying to profit on 'southern charm' angles.

Spell it how you want, but you're just letting them carpetbag us all over again...

I'm a Lifelong Mississippian. HERE it is y'all and always has been. Also, I've never heard "all y'all" used by a Mississippian, ever. I HAVE heard people with fake southern accents on TV use it. Y'all is plural, not singular.

Miss State has an interesting atmosphere. I went with some A&M boosters that I know. The blowing of the horn and racing to a tailgate spot seemed like an interesting tradition.

That wasn’t our best pregame atmosphere, but it was definitely a good one. What is so much better at Iowa than at State? More people? Better layout?

Typically, the Iowa State game will have about 150,000 fans there with only half of them going to the game. Things are quite spread out with the stadium being sandwiched in between the hospital and residential areas. It's also across the river from downtown where all the bars are.

Iowa used to be a perennial top ten party school. Not sure what has happened lately to change that.

We all owe Iowa State a big thank you for Shane Power. I'll pull an espn and say thank you University of Iowa Cyclones!

How large is "huge"? Iowa is just slightly larger in population than Mississippi, and each state has two major universities. Using just that data, you'd think the fanbases would be about the same.

On a good day (playing Alabama or maybe Texas A&M with Johnny Football), we'll have about 63K, a full house, at a game, and so will Ole Miss. Is the attendance at Iowa and ISU larger or about the same? I don't really know how the two schools are relative to one another.

ISU is a 60,000 seat stadium with a more modern design in an open flood plain on the east end of campus. It's easier to park a car closer to the stadium and tailgate in the open, hard surfaced lots. Kinnick in Iowa City was built nearly 100 years ago, holds 70,000 seats and has the old school brick grandstands. Like many Big 10 stadiums, it's wedged in between campus and a residential area. Iowa City tends to get a little wilder and the drinking is a little bit more excessive and the tailgate spots are spread out all over campus. We pay about $550 a year for each of our spots in a residential area 2 blocks from the stadium. This is on a dead end, tree lined street which allows the kids to play catch and plenty of room to set up nice tailgate and put our chairs under the trees. Melrose goes right by the south end of the stadium and the entire street up to downtown Iowa City is lined with tailgate spots and people walking up and down with open containers.
