Are really going off about how the NCAA stole a title from them.

They plan on making compilations of the bad calls. They really feel jobbed.

Taking off our beautiful blue tinted glasses, how did you see the officiating last night?

I really didn't see it as favored either way. Nova get some bad calls, for example, the screen at end of 1st, which helped Carolina extend the lead. No call hip check right before #2 picked up his 4th on a charge thst could have gone either way.

Carolina also got some calls against them like the block towards the end, even though I think there was some body contact.

I don't believe the play right before halftime was a foul, and that was a HUGE play.

I wish someone had the time to make a compilation of bad calls against nova to refute the losers. Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter at the end of the day...justice was served

I tell ya what, look out because when they have all the compilations of calls they didn't like tallied up it'll show that NCAA a thing or two! [laughing]

Officials are going to miss some calls in a game. If we all accept the idea that human beings are not perfect then we accept the idea that some missed calls or bad calls during a game are going to happen. Villanova really disrupted UNC in that second half mid way through.

Above all else in my opinion the one thing that should be highlighted in super bold fonts regarding that game is the fast break points that Villanova prevented UNC from getting. Villanova owned the tempo of that game and controlled Carolina from getting those easy break away points that they always get.

Before I make fun of this, I will say if they had called that a blocking foul on UK in that situation I would have been irate. I think he walked and that foul was bogus. However, in 2005 UNC got the gift call... the universe usually finds a way to balance things out.

Now... Do you think they'll make a compilation similar to the one UofL made when we beat them in the sweet sixteen? Because that was hilarious. Someone literally took hours out of their life to show (through their biased perspective) every call that went UK's way. A compilation that in no way will convince anyone other than UofL fans (who were already convinced they were screwed anyway) that they were robbed.

If the UNC** fan making this compilation can out do the UofL fan... that is an impressive and sad feat.

Woman at work (UNC alum) said she couldn't believe when the guy dragged his foot and it was just as bad as Webber, which is laughable. I told her half of Nova's players had four fouls, and it went both ways. She asked our supervisor if she could light my desk on fire.

I thought Villinova received a favorable whistle to be honest, especially a lot of the calls against Kennedy Meeks. However, Villanova outplayed UNC, especially down the stretch, and UNC had no business really even being in the game at the end. And they had an absolutely miraculous 3 pointer to tie, and they shot like 90% from three in the first half. So if you take all that into consideration they don't have anything to ***** about. They were outplayed and really deserved to lose last night, and they did.

Refresh my noggin on the 2005 one, can't remember. I recall Felton had a breakaway steal that was critical.

Fitting. At UNC I hear that is what they do to desks since they don't actually use them.

We'd probably be saying the same thing.

I sympathize for the fans, even though I don't feel bad for UNC itself. As bad as the UW loss was last year, this is worse. Can you imagine if our undefeated season had ended on a last second three to lose the national championship? They are never, EVER gonna heal from that shot. Ever.

Oh yes . He has said numerous times it will be up I a day or two[roll]

Agreed that it should have been a charge, but he was clearly fouled when starting his srive, that half second gave the Carolina player enough time to get set.

Which is exactly my point, calls were missed both ways, it didn't determine the winner or Rob anyone of a title. Better team won, IMO.

Hit some shots..UNC had 13 more shots in the game, more assists, a huge differential in offensive rebounds.
Fouls about even....so whose fault is it UNC lost?

Late in the game Nova trailed by 3 (I think. May have been 2) and their guard made a move, took contact and made an and one... only to be called for a travel, which he certainly did not do.

UNC can complain all they want but it won't matter. They lost. If they really want to think that it was the last play that killed them then the problem for unc was 100% coaching. Their players were not ready to defend the last second desperation shot. Only one of the five players was in the proper defensive position and he really didn't matter since he was guarding the guy bringing the ball down the court. Three of the others were standing under the basket and the other one was around the free throw line not nearly close enough to either of the two open Villanova shooters to have made a difference. Roy just got outcoached. This is all on him. Ain't life grand.

There were a few bogus calls against UNC imo. However, the out of bounds call near the end was completely missed. It should have been Nova's ball. And there were several moving screens not called against UNC. Overall, I thought Carolina got a slightly worse whistle, but there were a couple of crucial calls that also went against Nova.

I thought it was a fairly officiated game. A few missed calls, but fair overall.

I don't feel a bit sorry for UNC fans. Many of those ******** rubbed last year's loss to WISC in our face and what goes around comes around. Besides they didn't and don't belong in the tournament due to their POS coach who learned to cheat at the feet of Mr Four Corners himself. Anything bad that happens to UNC and their fans, in BB way, is karma.

What about the bogus charge against Nova after Jenkins was mauled at the top of the key not once, but twice. That was at a crucial point late in the 2nd half where Nova had all the momentum. Did Idiot Central mention that heinous call?

UK lost their undefeated season in part because of an inarguable missed call (which caused a rule change this year) with 2:30 to play that gave Wisconsin a basket.

UK lost a game at Kansas where they shot 47 FTs.

So, I really don't want to hear about the refs in a game with a foul differential of four and a FT differential of four.

Get pumped, Carolina.

No. We lost a chance at immortality in part because Wisconsin got a bucket on a shot clock violation with a little over two minutes to play.

Carolina was a 7-loss team in a down year who had a cakewalk and lost to a better team that earned their spot.

So, really Carolina and their bandwagon, holier-than-thou hypocrite fans can go to hell. It was a fairly called game and they lost.

Titles are titles, man. I am different from most fans in that I didn't really give a **** about the undefeated thing. I thought it added mental fatigue on our guys and I do think we were wearing down near the end of the season.

You can boil it down to the shot clock thing, but the bottom line is that execution can overcome extenuating circumstances working against you. We didn't execute. The Harrisons, for all their clutch past, didn't execute down the stretch or get the ball to Karl like they should have and we gave away our last few possessions. The shot clock violation hurt but I think that's fallacious reductive thinking.

Well I thought Nova got a generous whistle through the whole tournament. But they are one of those teams like UL and Michigan State who play very aggressive defense and you just can't call everything. They also practice jab-steps and ball fakes and pivot turns that look like traveling to the casual fan but aren't. And they are extremely crafty at drawing fouls off the dribble and while shooting.

But I will never brook any whining from UNC*** or Dook fans after all the calls they have gotten over many years in the tournament. It was actually refreshing to see the Tarholes getting nailed for stuff they usually get away with. Kennedy Meeks is a bully and a stiff who cannot block a shot or dive to the floor without fouling.

And UNC*** was very lucky they only saw 8 minutes of Kris Jenkins in the first half. Nova would have buried them even without the calls if Jenkins had played the entire first half because they had no one who could guard him at all.

Agree, UNC lost to a team that shot 48 shots the entire game. Guess who's coaching strategy worked best?

Roy only one championship game away from the most losses in a title game.......he's got a shot at it!

The only compilation the NCAA should be interested in should be a compilation of football players and basketball players with unc* degrees in AFAM.

I was absolutely cheering for Nova last night, and even harder against UNC, but its hard for me to see why anyone could think the game was officiated fairly. Nova benefited from a better whistle and I'm glad. Fact of the matter is that UNC has several titles that they shouldn't have and we know the NCAA isn't going to take them away.

They need to outsource that effort to the recognized leader in the industry - UL fans. By the time they are finished, UNC will have won the game 163.5 to 17.

Not surprising that this is your viewpoint given that you're a Duke fan...your school has been gifted with more unjust advantages (officiating, favorable tourney draws including this year, and so forth) than any school in modern history.

There were a handful of missed calls on both sides but nothing to merit either team complaining and frankly, overall I didn't think it favored either team over the other. Refs aren't perfect, they're going to get some wrong because they have to call them in real time. There was no blatant missed shot clock violation or BS technical.

I thought the officiating was a slight lean to Villanova. They called 7-8 straight fouls on UNC at one point in the first half and many of them were touch fouls. It evened out some, but I liked the game b/c it didn't seem like the officials were trying to be the centerpiece (which is usually the case in most NCAA games).

The announcers tried to point out questionable calls against UNC more than the other way. IMO that's why some think Nova got the better whistle. I certainly didn't see it that way.
In the 2nd half, UNC was in the double bonus before Nova was in the single bonus.
