Injuries we can survive versus...

I don't believe in bad juju. So, I'm going to ask the Q: What injuries can Duke survive and still be a top-10 team? What injuries would take Duke out of the top 10? Assume an injury that takes a player out for the last five non-conference games and the first ten ACC games...

I'm really only seeing one injury that we couldn't survive - Trevon. Jordan G may be serviceable but I'm not sure we're a top-10 team with him playing 30 minutes a game his freshman year.

Grayson would be next on my list. But I think we could run a three big lineup for big stretches of games. And Trevon, Trent and Jordan G could hold down the two guard positions. Maybe even Jack White or Alex O could play a little 2 guard?

Other than that, I think we'd be OK with any single injury if players generally live up to expectations. Outside of the guard positions, we have a lot of depth and a lot of talent. If Bolden or Carter or Bagley goes down, I still think we're a top ten team, especially if Javin and Vrank have progressed at all.

This depth could be huge for us. I am feeling really good about our chances this season and watching these kids develop.

Go Duke!

Unrelated edit: I just saw the weather channel has released its list of storm names for 2017/2018 winter storms. The G storm is: Grayson. So fitting.

After last season, injuries are the last thing I think we should be discussing, and I think we are due to have great injury luck this season. With that said though, we are much deeper in the front-court than we are in the back-court. Trevon would be the most disastrous IMO, for the simple fact that we don't have another PG on the roster outside of Goldwire (who I will be shocked if he plays any real minutes this year). Grayson and Gary would be right after Trevon, depth being the reasons, we have guys to back them up, but they are unproven multi-year freshman.

By January I think MBIII may be the answer to this question, he is going to be the real deal. Can play multiple positions and will excel at all of them. He unlocks so many different lineup combinations (big with him at 3, small with him at 5, etc.) Due to the depth of our front-court though: 3 capable starters with Javin and Vrank right there behind them, Trevon is the answer for now.

Let's be positive and look forward to the possibility of #6!
I want to see what image OAD comes up with for #6.

Why would we even want to think about this??......it's like trying to decide of I'd rather go deaf or blind.
